Actually, I'm not minding the fact that August is almost here. Last week, my boss handed down the official word that I can take a 5 to 6 week leave of absence to go to Playa!!! I plan on leaving mid to late October. There is so much to do between now and then though, so maybe I shouldn't try and rush things.

Still Hurricane season for us as well...we keep an eye on the tropics this time of year. My daughter school starts August 9 !!! ![]() ![]() I hate back to school time - I like my lazy days of no homework, no cranky kiddo in the morning, no papers to sign or read for school. To much paperwork. ![]()

Just got home from getting Sarah's pictures! OMGosh I'm going to have a tough time trying to pick just one! I'll post some later! John has decided to put stripper on the floor and then sand it! If we stay here much longer we'll all be flying high! Gotta go get Josh a haircut and the boy's need to get her a b-day gift!

Summer
My summer had a very rocky beginning: my mom passed away in early May. She had been very ill for quite some time so for her it was an end to an enormous amount of suffering. A week before this, Dave lost his job. So things couldn't ge worse but better.
As Nancy mentioned for us folks in education, summertime is like a huge weekend. The majority of June, we spent painting and doing minor remodeling of my house. It is not finished, but who cares. I am going to be working on it this week. Hopefully we will move in after Labor Day. If not, we have a place to stay until it is ready. No biggie. We have gone camping three times: the Sawtooths, a fantastic range of mountains in Idaho, for a week, Oregon for eleven days, and the Sawtooths, again, for four days. While we were in Oregon, Dave was informed that he landed a job that has better pay and benefits than his prior one. He started today!!! I get to go to Playa to hangout with my buddies next week!!! So, I have kind of mixed feelings about August. School starts, but I'll be ready.
