Thanks for the photos
Wow Guitar Player,
Thanks for all the great photos! It is especially gratifying for me to see such a happy picture of Ellie. She is the longest term resident at the Animal Shelter. She was rescued even before the existing shelter was built. I believe she is also the oldest dog available for adoption (4 years old). I had the pleasure of fostering Ellie back when Andy & Jen went to England (Read about Ellie's visit here...scroll to the bottom of the page). Check out her survival story in the PlayaPet section. ![]() Ellie Before.....Andy described her as a "walking skeleton" with much hair loss. ![]() Look at happy, healthy Ellie today! This photo made my day! ....and I had already had a really, really good day. After a two week effort I was able to catch an abandoned stray kitten by my house(about 7 weeks old). Thanks Again, Maureen Last edited by maureena5; 10-23-2007 at 07:45 PM.. |

You reminded me of the first foster dog we had a few years ago, a little lady by the name of Hannah, born and bred in the streets of Playa. The first few days she was with us, she couldn't settle down. It took a few of her trips around the house for us to realize she was watching her bowl. It was like, "Wow, there's still food there ..." "yep, still there" "hey, there's food, yay!". I can hardly wait until January when we get to Playa for the winter - I'm hoping to have the privilege of helping out at the shelter. The pics are great, Andy - the one of the two dogs with floppy ears with their heads in the fence just about did me in! ![]() Caroline |

Heather, I never knew that about Franky - he's a character just like his mom!
Btw everyone, Paco (one of the hero vets of Playa) found Hannah her new home as company for the watchman of a local nursery (viveros). Last we heard, all was well. silvergirl, I'm on the search for pics! May have to subject you to pics of our fosters from last year too - both are ours now because we couldn't hold our hearts back any longer. Caroline |
