Right its time to try and get up to date with everything that has been happening here at the shelter lately, some is good and some is bad, but its all here
![]() Ok the litttle black pup that was left in the back of my truck Mindy, she went to a new home in Playacar. But on saturday morning Jen found another puppy in the same place, now this just p`s me off , we will take in puppies all day long but for people to just leave the poor little things in my truck bed is outrageous, it could have been there all weekend without food or water , just a knock on the gate would be enough !! anyway this is the little guy, his name is Kip ![]() and he is a real cutie .Sadly Dulcie passed away, the bronchitis turned to pnuemonia and it was too much for her already weakened little body and she slipped away in her sleep on monday night, Luna her sister has been a bit lost as they were very close so she has had extra special hugs and attention .We have another two additions two puppies that were left at Paco`s for us tho it turns out some peoples idea of "puppy" isnt the same as others , we now have Tanya a 10 week old puppy who is lovely and a lot like little Tommy was when we had him (Vieve`s adopted pup) and we also have Jessie who is 8/9 months old so not really a pup, she is a quiet and gentle dog who for some reason wants to sleep on our dining room table , a habit we are definately discouraging !, she has mange but its not contagious and we will soon have it cleared up![]() There has been a problem with Polly and her feeding the baby, it appears her body was ready for more than one pup to feed and she produced too much milk which led to mastitis which is an infection, left untreated it can cause cancer but treating it means the pup can no longer feed so our good friend Deborah has volounteered to be mom and has taken the pup away, we bought some special milk and tiny bottles and she will feed it every couple of hours ![]() More good news however, Little tailess Lilly has found a new home, she was taken away on fri by a really nice young couple who promise to keep us up to date with her progress .Six of the seven puppies we brought here last week with thier mom are doing really well, they are away from her as she no longer wanted to feed them and was actually nipping (not seriously tho) at them , they are all happily eating puppy food and milk mixes although the seventh, the smallest is at the vets as it is not well at all, it seems to lose the use of its back legs from time to time and had a fit yesterday morning, Veronica thinks it could be Erlichia and is treating it for that but she is so small compared to her siblings we just have to keep our fingers crossed. Well that it for now, most of the dogs are all fine and dandy, there is still a couple with a bit of kennel cough but we have all the antibiotics for them and hopefully they will all be fine for puppy wash day saturday ![]() Thank you all for your kind words of support over the last few days, i am a lot better now, and i appear to have been luckier than some with this damn dengue, tho on the upside it looks like ive lost a few pounds and... kicked the ciggies too .I have a lot of work to catch up on here (if you know what i mean ) but i will get some more piccies of the other dogs..Pogo, Layla. , Osa etc asap. ![]() .

Hi Andy,
It's good to have you back. I'm glad you're feeling a bit better. Thanks for all of the information and updates. I'm so sorry for Dulce. I think she's in a better place now - a place where she doesn't cough and it doesn't hurt her to breathe. I'm in love with Kip and Jessie. I don't know if this sounds ridiculous, but these updates make me feel exhausted sometimes. How's my boy Thor? Take care, Andy. Keep getting better. |

![]() How is Polly doing without her baby? Does she miss him? I hope the little guy does okay too. That Odin is a real beauty! I think the picture Guitar Playa took of him is good enough for a dog calendar! Sorry to hear about Dulce .
