Just a little story and some advice about taking a dog abroad....
There is a lovely family that have been mailing us for a while about taking one of our pups to the USA, when they finally came they were totally prepared, they had booked the flight, arranged to visit thier vet at the soonest possible time, bought a carrier that complied with the airlines regulations and have organised with us to get the pup checked and have its papers... ![]() ![]() Now the opposite end of the scale.... i got a call around 5 yesterday that a family from the US wanted to take a pupīback with them and did i have anything available, i was not home at the time but the vet passed my number to them so as to arrange a meeting.... at 8.30 last night they rang to say could they see a pup, well to save time i took a couple out to them at theier hotel in Playacar and after a bit of deciding they picked Becky (the sister of the puppy the other couple chose) ok thinks i fantastic another baby finds a home, then i ask "what size is your carrier".... erm we dont have one... ok so no biggie i told them to try Walmart in the morning...oh but our flight is tomorrow... what time says i... we have to leave our hotel by 08.30 ![]() so i rang the vet, organised the certificate to be picked up at 07.30 this morning and then spent the next 90 mins dashing from Walmart to Mega to Sorianna and Chedraui to get a carrier, i finally got home at 11.30 when i rang them to say i was succesfull Jen asked me to check one last thing.... have they booked this puppy with the Airline, well of course they would have say's i....wrong !!!..... so they then begin trying to get hold of thier airline...v i went to bed, this morning i had recieved no call to say there was a problem so off to the vet i go for the vaccinations and certificate after which i head off to Playacar, i arrived with 5 mins to spare only to get a call from thier rep (someone i know) to say the airline doesnt accept any animals on thier flights ![]() .So just a cautionary word, please if you decide to take one of our little ones or any animal from Mexico...please please please do the groundwork (or ask us to help) first The good news is (hopefully) they are still going to try to find a way to get Becky up to them as they did fall for her, and i got to add they were a really lovely family who will give her a good home
