Oh my!.....what a wonderful day at the Shelter!! How incredible to see what a fabulous job Andy & Jen are doing. It is heartwarming & a whole lot of fun to see these beautiful, happy dogs!
I don't even know where to begin......I was joined by Libby (thanks for the ride, mi amiga, lots of laughs about managing the cart at Sam's Club....Libby purchased mucho, mucho dog food for the Shelter  ). You gave sweet Tasha just what she needed too. Lara was already there helping out as I know she does quite a bit! Lara, from Wales (now living in Playa) is just about the sweetest young woman I have ever met! Joanna then arrived...another great personality. She is so nice & so darned smart! Bottom line....these three girls are so interesting, nice & fun! Us girls were only the guests/dog washers......Jen & Andy are the best of the best!! I can barely decribe what incredible personalities they possess.....so nice, hard working, great attitudes, fun & so committed to this cause.We had a fabulous day.....so many wagging tails, dog kisses (licks), many baths, an adoption of Gilda while we were there  , & such beautiful dispalys of the unique personalities of each of the dogs (silly, playful, shy, attention seeking, & some that just needed to be held). What a great day! We got dirty & had so much fun!!Thanks Andy & Jen for all you do! You are doing an incredible job!! (I know it's not a job, but a labor of love!) Maureen P. S. I will post a bunch of photos tomorrow (I only took 98 photos & 7 movies!). I need to re-aquaint myself with the technical stuff about uploading photos & such.....these photos will be coming soon. |

One last note......I only want to adopt Ellie, Freddy, Luna, Fudge, Vero, George (Peaches), Belle, Molly, "crazy" Jessie, Pooky & one of the little baby girls!!!!!....a girl can wish, no?

How 'bout that George, my e-baby... What a sweet little boy... He sat on my lap and rested his head on my chest... Brought tears to my eyes...
 I've been working on DH (in a very subtle way)... I just keep talking about the shelter and the dog on the beach and Maureen taking 2 pups to Chicago... He was the first one to use the word 'adopt'... We have 3 dogs and 4 cats now... I really can't see what difference another one would make... Of course, he's the 'zookeeper' so it's more work for him... But, he's retiring at the end of the month and he'll have more time for more critters...  He does, however, talk about the shelter and how he admires Jen & Andy for the work they do... As do we all...

How incredible that he is your e-baby! George (formerly Peaches) was hilarious today!!...wait until I get my photos uploaded!!! He is so playful & healthy. He still has a few patches of hair missing......he made me laugh so much today. He is such a sweet, silly little boy!! Maureen |

Actually, I was the one who named him George... When I became his sponser, I had a real problem with a male dog named Peaches... I told Jen I would call him George as in Georgia Peach...
My pugs are named Henry, Lily and Daisy... Henry, Lily, Daisy and George, hmmmm...

Photos from yesterday's dog wash.......
 Laura with Carmen. Carmen will be on her way to her new family in Chicago soon!  Sweet Osa  Regal Thor Tasha....She is so sweet, but fragile. She is getting better.  Libby with one of the new baby girls. There are six & they are so precious!  Jen with one of the baby girls. Crazy Jessie begging for attention. She is so affectinate!  Silly George (formerly Peaches)  For you, Vanessa. Your buddy, Joanna with your new little buddy Lee.  Lee getting a belly rub. Vanessa, he is adorable!!!  My dear Ellie. She is so healthy now. Ellie has quite a belly now!  My heros, Andy & Jen washing Gilda.  Me with Molly...washing/defleaing the babies  Molly wants a baby!  The new parents with their baby Gilda. There will be more photos & a movie to come....My internet has slowed up a bit.....So many other wonderful dogs & puppies. |

Great picture, I'm so looking forward to my calender. Also hoping that I can visit when I'm in town in March with my daughter Jenn, she is a huge puppy lover and would have a ball, especially with Xena and Odin, she has a pit bull too.

Maureen - Thank you SO much. You look so happy and BEAUTIFUL in that picture! I love it! And I'm also in love with Molly. Soooo pretty she is. And my boy Thor looks more handsome than ever. (Are those scars all over his nose?)

I gave her a big hug as I left! Joanna threw the loviest BBQ tonight. I am serious when I say it was one of my best meals I've had in Playa (sushi, arracheara, chicken...marvelous)! Aside from food, the company was the best!! Andy, Jen, Kat, Liz, Hronn ( Sunny on the board from Iceland).....lovely girl, Heather & Michael ("Mr. August" in the calendar), Paula, Clare & their beautiful dog, Paddy. Some old friends that Joanna used to work with also showed up.....great guys. What a wonderful life!! P.S. I also had my grand daughter with me for the first hour (turning one year old very soon). Uncle Andy is as good with babies as he is with dogs!! (and if anyone see Joanna today or tomorrow, please give her a goodbye hug from me!!
