Just wanted to mention another idea for fundraising. My a cappella group, Octave, which is here in Atlanta, holds an event every fall called A Cappella in the Park. We get other a cappella groups to come perform, and we perform, too. The event is open to the public and free to attend, but while all the music is going on, a dog rescue group is there on the scene to educate the audience about their rescue group, the importance of spaying and neutering, and they bring dogs that are up for adoption (not to be adopted that day, they have a whole application process. Their spay/neuter program has a pretty clever name: No "Littering." Anyhow, last year we raised $1000 for them in a little under 4 hours, all strictly donations. Maybe some of the local musicians or restaurant owners could put on an event of the same nature for you?
Again, can't wait to visit! I think Josef said we might be bathing doggies???
Anna Tortuga if you're reading this, I want to meet your puppy too!!! We're staying at La Tortuga, so I am sure we could find a way to meet her!!
A friend of ours Brad has offered his band for a fundraising event , we just have to plan the where and when.
Loking forward to meeting you both, oh and bring some older clothes with you, bath-time can get wet n messy

We were just at Bassetfest in suburban Milwaukee on Saturday. They have a fenced in acre where basset hounds and mixes (only) can run free. It is alot of fun but the main point is to raise money for Basset Buddies Rescue which serves Northern IL, WI and MN.
Since it was the first nice day after a week of rain everyone came home quite muddy. (They did have a hose to get off the worst of it).
At one point a houndie from MN jumped up on our picnic table and wanted her belly rubbed. She was soooo cute, but her belly too muddy to rub much. Meantime ours was out being a big bully, starting fights in the sand pit.
I still do not think he's over it; he's been asleep pratically since we got home on Saturday only waking up to eat drink and poop.
I haven't heard what they made yet but I'm sure it's in 5 digits

PS, its Voof, not Hoof

I thought it was a wolf, thats why we bought it on 5th at the Teddy Kennedy store. OK, the big masks outside that haven't sold in 5 years probably are not of the Senator from MA, but they sure look like him

Meds and other supplies

For you dog lovers who are interested in taking meds etc. to the Peanut Animal Shelter when you travel to PdC, I found this discount Pet Pharmacy online here. Dave, my partner, male friend, or whatever you call them when you are 50 years old, is a pharmacist and told me about this site. I am sure there are others websites that sell pet supplies. The prices look great and customers get a discount for purchasing certain dollar amounts of products.
