Last night on my way home from work, I found Michael looking down at the wheel well of a trailer that's parked on our street. Our dogs and the dogs across the street were going crazy barking. Michael had heard the commotion and then heard pitiful crying of a puppy, and found that it had gotten stuck in the trailer's wheel well. Poor thing was terrified and had been chased there by a big ole mean street cat. We couldn't easily access the puppy and she couldn't get out on her own, as she was pinned in pretty tight. She stuck her little nose/mouth through the holes in the wheel, however, and licked my hand when I petted her.
It took us 20 min., and it was pretty scary at times when it sounded like she was choking when she squeezed through some tight spots, but we finally got her! She was so frickin' small and cute...and absolutely TERRIFIED. Hated to lay the burden on Andy and Jen, but what else could we do, we couldn't just leave her. So we called Andy and he said, "Yep, absolutely, bring her by." So we took her to the pet shelter. The 10 minutes I held her on the way there bonded me to her so strongly that I felt like crying when I handed her over, but we just can't keep her. We have no space and two dogs who don't get enough of our time as it is. ![]() ![]() I asked Andy to call her Junebug, and I hope I can go get a picture of her soon. Bless you, Andy and Jen. You're my heroes, and I'll be helping care for Junebug as much as I can afford to.
