I'm sure Bronson and Jack would LOVE to have a lil sister to look after..... [quote=u2girlie;1136396]We have two dogs already (a rottweiler/big baby -- named Bronson, and a rescue named Jack who we think is aussie shep/border collie mix).

I feel your pain!! My hubby is the same way. He had the nerve to tell me that we can't go to Playa next year because we're taking the kids to Orlando next year, and I was like yeah and your point is?? I don't see any reason why we can't do both... but of course he says that two vacations a year is too much for us right now because 2 of our kids are in college and 3 are about to start driving!! Jeez, I think their bikes and skateboards are perfectly fine... but no one else seems to think that I don't get it.

Thank you both for taking her into your lives

More good news this morning...... work on the shelter will begin again on monday morning 9am ............. still a bit short on the total build amount but we are getting there, so far we have had sponsors for 18 of the 26 pens which is fantastic, thank you to everyone who has been generous enough to help us and to those who continue to give so kindly
All I can say is Wow! Erik and I are both in awe of the work you and Jen do. What a lovely compliment to have you say what we did helped you. Our pleasure!!! See you in Feb.

Just wanted to say that we stopped in on Jen and Andy at the Peanut Pet Shelter and we wanted so much to help in some way. We rode our bikes there -- got a little lost, but eventually found it. We are leaving Playa this afternoon and I don't think we'll be able to come back for at least 2 - 3 years!!! BUT - we want to figure out a way to set up some sort of host program through our local pet shelter in So Ca. How cool would that be, if we could get other pet lovers on board to "sponsor" a dog from Peanut or even the possibility of finding them a home in the States, or maybe even a foster situation at some of our shelters? Maybe I'm dreaming, but I'd love to figure something out. We fell in love with all the doggies currently at Peanut. Also -- we had several chance encounters with a sweet heart of a dog that has been hanging around El Tacamaron on 10th Ave at around 34th. She is a caramel and white color, (they call her "Como Ta" -- sp?? ) - and she couldn't be more than 8 months and she's already had pups. Samuel, the owner of El Tacamaron says they don't feed her, but she consistently comes back for "love". They put a flea collar on her, but she is still a street dog. We saw her four times this past week... and she was a SWEETHEART. I wish we could find her a real home.
Hope to follow up with a trip report in another post elsewhere... and I'll post some pics of Como Ta. That's all for now!

Thanks to Andy and Jen for the Flea Collar on the lovely street dog. They generously gave me one last week for her. She is a wonderful dog. I believe she does have a owner because the day i went to put on the flea collar a man asked me what I was doing. I explained. Asked if it is his dog. And if okay to put on the collar. He said fine and actually did it for me. I just think, like many Mexican owned dogs, they are fed table scraps if fed anything at all. Karma plays with her all the time. We just love her!

I'm glad you enjoyed the shelter. Aren't Andy, Jen and those precious dogs just the best part of Playa!
