Good news ..bad news....
The good.... the roof is pretty much finished, it looks ok and is totally functional, last nights deluge didnt leak into the shelter so dry doggies on the horizon, there are still a few small holes and cracks to fix in the wall but that is a quick job and the pen dividers have started to go up, so smiles on that front.. Bad... We had been out doing the usual running around and were heading homeward when i saw a poor soaked and bedraggled dog in the road not far from our house, something about the dog looked familiar and as we got closer i was shocked to see a frightened and shaking..MISHA !!! wtf !! she had left us complete with new lead and coller and here she was without either, i dont know whether she escaped or what but she had managed to find her way back and must have been there quite some time, as yet her new "owner" has not been here nor has he been in contact ![]() ![]() but on the upside Misha is unharmed and happy to be back with her kennel mates. The swamp that was once our garden / yard is beginning to dry out so its looking like dog wash will go ahead as normal ![]() And apologies to you Norml i didnt even see your pm amigo, dont know how i missed that one, a reply is on its way amigo

Omigod, Andy.
I'm so thankful that you found Mischa. ![]() I have tears running down my face for her - she must have been so scared. ![]() And I'm so pissed off that no one cared to let you know she was missing. ![]() Welcome home, Mischa. |

This makes me wonder about the other dog Misha's new "owners" had previously adopted. I realize that things can happen and maybe she just escaped, but...why weren't you telephoned? And what happened to her collar?

Hi Sue,
Misha is featured in the link below. Scroll to the middle of the page for her before & after photos. She was such a sickly little bald girl when she arrived. I'm so sad about her ordeal. I'll give your regards to the four legged creatures. They're keeping me busy. Sandy sure has a wild streak in her. |

Good news for all the pets at the Peanut Pet Shelter and for the cats' Laura cares for on a daily basis!
They have all been invited to attend the Vidas aminal clinic August 9-12 in Playa! VIDAS: International Veterinarians Dedicated to Animal Health, Animal Advocacy, Animal Welfare Services, Animal Disease Research, & Animal Welfare Education Sure, not all pets need to go...but those who are not yet sterilized can have it done for free due to the generosity of these vets! Also, the vets, I'm told, will help treat additional problems if needed. Playa's own Sherry Stevens coordinates this project every year for the residents of the Mayan Riviera. It's a wonderful wonderful project and the vets work so hard to educate the local people on pet care. Read more here!VIDAS: International Veterinarians Dedicated to Animal Health, Animal Advocacy, Animal Welfare Services, Animal Disease Research, & Animal Welfare Education Also, if you are spare room or condo or place for the vets to stay please contact Vidas and let them know. If you want to volunteer let them know too! They do great great work and we are so lucky to have them here! |
