We do what we do because we love them all and its what is important to us both , the shelter and helping these animals is something we will always do no matter what and the help and kindness of so many others makes it possible

A cup of puppyWho doesn't need a cup of puppy every day?! Every time I think I've seen THE cutest picture y'all put up more. All of the dogs are so adorable. I wish someone would adopt Bambi too...she always looks like she needs an extra hug. |

![]() I just realized that Tom, in his everlasting quest to find something in our household to dominate, is only "allowing" certain people to use our bathroom. ??? If you aren't on his list of approved people, he barks and growls REALLY threateningly right out side the door the entire time. - doesn't make for a relaxing experience, as you can imagine. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to who is or isn't on the list, but it's consistent. My one nephew who stays over every once and a while, is NOT ALLOWED and there is no telling Tom otherwise, so we have to keep him downstairs while my nephew is visitingTom also has been kicking my father out of the house by barking when he feels my Dad has overstayed his welcome(Dad staying too late was starting to be a problem, until Tom hit on this solution.) And his timing is perfect...as soon as Dad starts raising his voice and arguing politics or it's time for Ally to get to bed, Tom goes into action ![]() ![]() and dad leaves- w/o the ruffled feathers he tends to get if I usher him out. We know we can't let Tom have this much control from here on in, but it has given me a respite from the right wing commentary lately.Guess Tom would vote Democratic.

Also want to let everybody know that Lydia has posted my 10 year old daughter Ally's piece about Tommy's adoption in the August newsletter of sac-be.com- thank you Lydia!
Just wanted to share the beginning, because she said such nice things about Andy, Jen and Heather( although it cracked me up that she calls Heather a lady- NOT because you aren't a lady, Heather, but it just sounds too matronly for you!) Tommy In the spring of 2007, Andy and Jen, two of the nicest people I’ve ever met, were starting a shelter in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. The shelter started because Heather (a really nice lady from playa.info) found a litter of five puppies and their mother in the Mega (grocery store) parking lot. Their names were Holly, Rory, Coco, Bernie, and Tommy. My Mom and I looked at some pictures of Tommy on the internet and we both thought he was adorable. ...see sac-be.com for the rest |
