Horrible day at work today. So many more people laid off. Very sad.
But I thought about Sparky and Darla and Thor and Odin and it made me feel better. Hi Thor...just wanted to let you know I was thinking of you. Hope you're feeling better. Lots of ear and belly scratches from NJ. MWAH! |

I am sorry to hear about Max...you and Joe are sooo kind to him. Augie's ritual is very beautiful...It's amazing how doggie buddies get so attached and love each other so much. BTW What a great offer you have made Andy and Jen!!!! It's a wonderful act of kindness. YOU ROCK!!!!! ![]() ![]()

Two lots of good news today...
Firstly Layla can see ![]() ... her eyes (especially the right one ) are still a little cloudy but today she has been playing properly with Pogo, Spud and Bernie, running round the garden and not bumping into things, she is so much happier today, it must have been very scary for her, but now she is behaving like a puppy ![]() Good news part 2...........It was always part of our dream to have an on site vet clinic at the shelter and now it looks like this will soon be happening. Two local vets Veronica and Edgar have offered to give us a bi-monthly clinic here to do the regular check-ups and vaccinations, and they have also offered to do some minor surgeries as well such as spaying and neutering , we will have to try and source some medical equipment for these operations to take place but we are hopeful that this will be a not too difficult task. The upside to all of this is that instead of the daily runs to the vet i will have more time to spend with the dogs doing fun things like walks or trips to the beach and after any surgery the animal will be able to recover here more comfortably. ![]() I just hope the good news fairy is still hanging around manana, when we meet the lawyer to hear the news about becoming a registered charity ![]() One thing i learned today is that the outbreak of "D" that we suffered and get quite a lot with the puppies could simply be down to the water, until now we have (rightly or wrongly) been giving them all tap water, but Paco thinks that this could be the cause so its bottled aqua for them all from now on, a bit more costly but believe me far, far better than coming home to that mess again .. |

Great news Andy. Oh, and BTW, I wanted to let you all know that plain canned pumpkin is great for pups with digestive difficulties. I know it may be a bit difficult for you to find there, but I give it to my babies when the evil and dreaded "D" crops up. Another great thing is plain yogurt for the little ones on antibiotics. Also, I think little Pookie might have a bit of Miniature Pinscher in her...I'm involved in minpin rescue here, and when I saw her picture I thought she looked a bit like a minpin mix.
