That is so funny because when I saw your pic for the first time, the one you're using as your avatar, it broke my heart because I thought, "Barney as a baby! My baby! Barney"

Consider this a done deal! Joe is always looking for people to go with him. Here's a great lodge that he has hired a guide & boat from....

Pesca Maya Fishing Lodge - Home

OMG...I'm so excited! Joe does not participate much on this Forum, but I can send you his email & they can begin to coorespond. Your boss would be welcome to stay at our house as well.

Maureen

P.S. Joe's a good fishing partner.....lots of fun!!! They are sure to come back with some great Fish Tales!!!

Mo what can I say "THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN" when I got back to work I told Dr Ward he is really excited!! He said that is where he fished before and really liked it!!! I guess the next step is to PM your hubby's email address and we will try to get them to set some dates!!! I am sooooo excited if we can pull this whole thing off!!! Is there a place at the new PPS location that he could spay/neuter??? what about all the supplies needed to preform them?? I asked Dr Ward if he would need to take his surgical implements and he said no, he would need to leave them at the hospital for the other doctors to use so I guess what I'm asking are these items available to use there??? like what do all the other doctors use at the Vidas clinic???? Thanks again Mo!!!! xoxoxxoxo Kelly

what????:c onfused:

Brought all 3 of my dogs to the vet today for the yearly visit. Luna had her final round of shots. She's all healthy! Just waiting to hear about the coccidia test. My boys are healthy too. Bill came to....$398.05. That's an airline ticket and then some!

Vet told me he talked to their person who orders medications/supplies. The good news (for us) is that the drug companies are no longer taking back meds from the offices when they are close to expiring or expired. He said they would start saving stuff for us. I'm going to call them next week to see if they have anything. Then, I'll try to check in with them monthly. I am going to go to other vets in the area to try to get more help. Keep your fingers crossed!
I hope they come through!!! that is awesome Rebecca!!

Hi Kel,

The Fishing Trip part was easy-peasy! Indeed, much planning & coordination will need to be done for a Spay Day (location, equipment, promoting & organizing people to bring animals that need to be sterilized). I'll admit... I got excited knowing the fly fishing part was a given. In fact, the boat & guide were to be my belated Christmas gift to Joe. Dr. Mark would be his guest/fishing buddy. I did not look at the big picture. This may very well need to wait until the Clinic is built or at least until other resources can be explored. FYI, the Vidas Organization transports all their equipment including anesthesia machines. It is a very well coordinated, but complicated program.

Another possibility is... that Dr. Mark provide exams/doctoring for the PPS' four-legged residents. This along with his professional medical advise would certainly be an incredibly, valuable contribution.

Ultimately this is all up to the PPS board. I'm just a volunteer...albeit an overly-enthusiast one at times...ha,ha!! So fishing trip done deal. By the way, they would spend one night at the lodge as it is quite a distance from Playa.

Sorry I didn't think this through, but I do see where something wonderful can come of this idea/exchange.

You're the BEST Kelly!!
Maureen

I think he (and I) were thinking all the spays/neuters would be for the animals at PPS! The ones that have not gotten done yet, nothing against the locals that need it but he really was going to do it to help the PPS out!! That is what we were both thinking!!! If the spay/neuter thing is way to much at this time maybe he could help the animals at PPS in any other kind of way? vacines, physicals, de-worming them, nail trims, things like that for this trip!!! I know once he goes to PPS once and he see's how wonderful everyone is, I know it would NOT be he last trip!!! Then plan another spay/neuter trip!!! board members what do you think about those idea's? It would be easy for him to bring those things down in his suitcase??!!! Well Mo it sounds like we have this whole thing worked out!! after we hear what the board memebers think, I will run it by him and we can maybe try to get some dates together!!!
