How do I ask my vet to donate supplies? Anything in particular needed that American vets are more likely to donate? Do I need a letter from the PPS?
I want to do anything I can.

Oscar and Haley

This was written about Oscar two weeks ago:

Named for the extremely kind man who has been feeding him and who alerted us to his plight, Oscar is a truly sad case. He is hungry, he has mange, fungus, open sores and parasites. His ears have been cropped so short as to be almost non-existent.
Worst of all, Oscar has given up hope. Look into his eyes and you will see no sign of suffering, pain, discomfort or distress, there is simply…..nothing. He is not aggressive or resistant. He is not friendly or loving. He neither accepts or rejects affection. He is simply existing, a hollow shell of an animal
.

I had no hope for Oscar. Everything written above was true. Just 10 days ago he had trouble walking. It broke my heart.

Today?

He has no trouble walking. He flies now!!! He plays! He whines and whimpers and begs for attention! He's still beaten up a bit, but those wounds will also heal. Simply amazing!

And Haley? We all now about scrawny hairless Haley. Poor thing had to wear a sweater to fend of the "cold wave" we experienced a few weeks back.

Today? Lookin' good! Putting on the weight and HAIR!

It's time like these that reinforces why I pick up poop!

you can ask your vet for any supplies that is out of date or supplies they no longer need or use that they can't send back!!! I think pretty much anything is helpful!!! PPS does have a letter not sure you really need it but if it makes you feel better they have one in spanish and in english for the customs agents!!! thank you for caring!!!

Wow! what a difference a couple of weeks have made in Oscar!
Yesterday I bought him a bottle of "Micro-Tek spray" that a local pharmacy makes for pets. It has all natural ingredients and says it is
anti-itch, anti-viral, anti-fungal, anti-parasitic, anti-bacterial and ant-inflammatory. I hope it makes him a little more comfortable in his skin.
Hoping to have some Baytril drops with me for his ears as well.
Looks like I should go and buy some more of those rope toys too!
I'll be down next Sunday.

Does anyone know if you can get Diatomaceous earth in Mexico? it might be a 'natural'[ answer to the flea and tick problems. there are some good articles when you search it on google.

Oh....no...so sorry to hear. Should future travellers bring Frontline? What is working for you guys to control the infestation?
