And I'm talking about educated foreigners who should know better, not local families who can't afford to give thier pet much luxury, and who by the way I meet more and more frequently when I'm at the vet's. Anyways, hope the neighbour keeps a close eye on this lady and her new dog . I don't think i could enter anyone's home and steal a dog, especially with the thread about guns/shootings going on in the off topic section!
I never went on someone's property. I would wait until the dog would come up the street. It was pretty much a no fail strategy. These dogs or puppies would be out wandering the roads. An elderly neighbor down the street would feed some of them and they would start hanging out at her trailer and I would get them from her. That was another way of taking them to a home were they would be loved. Also, the majority of them were not missed. Very few times did the owners go looking for them. Our neighborhood was so bad about taking care of dogs. Very few people would take good care of their pets, and the rest would just be awful.

I wish there was an Animal Control or something that could prevent this woman from having another pet. Obviously, she is not capable, nor worthy. This makes me so...Sad? Furious? It's certain that, in a few years, this will happen to her 'new' dog, too. The Cocker Spaniel is beautiful. I'm so sorry about Jody, Andy.

I'm so glad you posted this. I thought about it last night. I figured I'd open the link and see all of these desperate dogs with sad eyes and wind up in an eternal funk. At the same time, I'm more than aware of how people NEED to see this. If it made just one person understand - or if it helped just one dog - then it was worth looking at. (Unfortunately, I still can't look - but I'll take your word for it.) Thanks again for posting.

It was easy because my mom's friends were dog crazy and they didn't live in our neighborhood. Furthermore, the neighbors whose dogs I swiped were not on speaking terms with us, so they never suspected that I was ripping off their dogs. The dog would be out on the street and I would entice it to come into our yard, at night. These poor dogs were so happy to get food and some love, that they would just jump into my car when I would take them to their new owner. What is so so sad is that people get pedigreed puppies such as these dogs and then get tired of them once they were full-grown. They were no longer cute and attention-getting.
I like you, A LOT, too.
Is it just me? I find dogs much more enjoyable once they're past the puppy stage. I wish I could have known Sparky back in his "day" - when he was 2-3 years old. But I am so fortunate and grateful to know him now.

Oh Andy, so sorry you are feeling down. It is so very unfair for Jody. These poor dogs have suffered enough. Can't they catch a break? Thank goodness the auction money is coming in to help pay for this treatment.

Those poor poor rescues........they will soon see how lucky they are to have been saved by you! Her yard must have been covered in "mess" and that's how it was all over the dogs? And the ticks.......... How is it lyme disease isn't rampant?

Like "Guitar Playa" said..........you my dear man are fighting the good fight. Thank God for you..........once again!

Chin up, Andy...........its gotta get better. Our hearts are so full of love and respect for all you do.

Looks like Rick will have his work cut out for him this weekend! No time for making eyes at Mimi!
