One puppy is enough at the moment, but they are cute, all of them. As for tomorrow, anytime that will suit you just message me when your coming and ring when you get to the gate and I will be down. Thank you greatly for this

Wow! what a lot to catch up on!
The puppies are adorable. I will never understand how people think it is ok to dump them...

Back to the giving pills for a moment. I just want to share what has always worked for me for the fussiest of pill takers. I start with three bits of a pill pocket, one with the pill, two with nothing. For the first couple of doses I give a nothing bit first, the pill second and another nothing to follow. I then back it off to only two bits, pill first and treat second. I have never met a dog who didn't want all I have in my hand, they gulp the pill and take the treat. Now after four years of giving our bulldog a vanectlylP (a form of prednisone) twice a day, every other day, she just takes the pill pocket with the pill in it with no problem, gulp, gone.

Duck, for Taco, who might be on prednisone for life, you might want to ask if eventually he could have it every other day. I was told that it is less hard on their system and seems to do the same job. Our last bullie developed Cushings Disease - they said it was because of the prednisone. She was a mess, with large patches of fur falling out, very crusty skin, etc. We had to get her off the prednisone which had kept her skin problems sort of at bay. Through a lot of research, I started giving her melatonin (it regulates hormones, is a relaxer - people take it to be able to get to sleep) and it worked in relaxing her skin and her coat grew back! When I took her back to the vet to show him, he was blown away by her 'recovery'.

Hi Leia, yes Taco is on Prednisone every other day ( 5mg ) for the last month, hopefully he won't have to be on it forever but, we just take it one step at a time. He is going to hydro-therapy once a week, he's doing great but every once in awhile ( like today ) he took a spill after jumping off 2 steps from the porch and landed on the grass in a tumble . He's a tough trooper though, he just got up, shook it off and away he went .

I'm going to ask our vet about the "Melatonin" though, sounds like it may be a good step in the right direction ! Thank You for your input !

I could do with some old towels or sheets so they can have a comfortable bed to sleep on as I don't have any here.
Gary we are not down until March but we have old sheets here we will gladly bring them down with us!!!

I just had an email from another bulldog owner who said that Melatonin didn't work for her dog but some vitamin supplements have really done a great job......now to find out what supplements she is using!! I'll try anything at this point!

Well I'm not having much trouble giving Iggy the pill pockets anymore, I guess he figured, I better eat this or else she is going to be bugging me until I do!

Unfortunately, Iggy had a very bad day on Friday, he was in a lot of pain. Took him back to the vet on Saturday and he said that he is going to need surgery, but it is very costly. He gave me the information for the neurologist, which I will be calling sometime this week. For now he gave him pain pills to help keep him comfortable. He is to be crated for the next 3 weeks and only can come out to go potty. I'm so sad because I want him to have the surgery, but Michael said its too much money. I just can't see putting him to sleep. He will be 6 on Sunday, November 14, so I will be spoiling him with lots of treats that day! We have a tough decision to make when we return from our vacation.

That is really sad Lucy, I'm sorry. What type of surgery is it that he needs? I know that our vet has a Care Credit program where you can set up payments for treatments. That is an option.
