So Sorry

I know that it is a very hard decision to make and not one to be taken lightly. It is so crazy how expensive surgery is for our babies I know that if it was one of my babies and they would still have a good quality of life after surgery I would do everything in my power to get the surgery needed, I may have to rob a bank to do it but I would find a way. My husband says the same thing about the money situation, but I think he might have a change of heart if it came down to it ![]() I can tell you really love Iggy, my prayers are with you and Iggy |

you know our Taco story and how for weeks we just didn't know what to do.... believe me, Deb & I know what you are going through, tears & all, we just kept doing research and asking questions to our vet and confiding in friends ( as you are doing ) something hopefully will come out of the clear blue sky and save Iggy as it did our Taco. Never ever give up on him.....Iggy is trying his hardest to be better. We were lucky with bigbadleroys help in finding a cure for Taco and i hope the same for you....maybe try a Animal Medical Center somewhere close to you ? They specialize in doing "in depth" treatment that regular vet's don't have the equipment to do. I know how you guys feel about the $$$ but, if the doc's would of told us there was a gurantee that some sort of surgery would of saved Taco, we'd "sold the farm" to save our boy. In our case they DIDN'T know what was wrong with him but wanted to do "exploratory" surgery to see if they could find the problem for $3,000 and we took a chance and said NO, then Kelly ( bigbadleroy ) came to our rescue with her idea ! You could also talk via PM with Craig & Pat what they have gone through as far as expenses for their babies ! ![]() We hope and pray for the BEST for Iggy and the both of you ! |

Sorry to read about your Iggy.
Vet surgeries are over the top expensive! We've done a emergency gastric torsion and an ACL repair on two of ours, (one surgery each), thank goodness for Visa. It is too bad you can't take him with you to Playa and have it done there... I wonder if it work out better $$wise in the long run.

All total, we have over $20,000 in our animals and their medical bills. Even with little Miguel, who we lost, not one dollar is regretted We have been ridiculed for this, but it was a decision we made. Find out as much as you can about this surgery that they want to do. Don't be afraid to ask as many questions as you can! Research it as much as you can. If you need to talk, feel free to PM me for my number. I will be in California for the next week, but I always check here. You take care, and do what your heart tells you to do. Last edited by patfstich; 11-08-2010 at 05:11 PM.. |

So I have a random question, anyone know how long the party at Luna Blue will be happening tomorrow? I know it's the drawing for the trip, and I have a volleyball banquet at 6 so i wont be able to make it right at first. But wanted to check in after on the webcam if possible.

Thank you Duck and Pat. If it were just me, I would find the $$ somehow and would do the surgery, but hubby is not as passionate about it as I am, so it makes these decisions even harder. But we will not make any decisions until we come back from Playa. Hopefully by then, he will be better and we won't have to go down that path yet. Leia if I could take him with me, I would do it in a heartbeat... but that trip would be way to painful for him.
