I aint in Kansas anymore. I knew about 90% of the people in my old neighborhood of 67 houses. I was in charge of the crime watch there. My next door neighbor was Evelyn, who some of you met at the first peepmeet and a river regatta. She is in her 70's, still works, and will try anything..like river tubing and getting her divers cetification. We each had a key to each others houses. She let our dog out, and we helped to pick up her late husband who had a habit of falling alot. I miss my old neighbors.

Now we live in a new community, lots of people in the medical profession. The people on the right are retired..I think...they are not very friendly, the people to the left are asians and we talked only one time..they wanted to see our house after we did the fix-ups.... and asked how much we bought it for..
Nice couple across the street...they seemed the friendliest. She teaches special ed. I offered to volunteer for any big outings..like the fair or special olympics.
Behind us are some Indian families and a Muslim family. I met the Indians, seem nice enough..the Muslims are not interested and keep to themselves...although they had a party a couple of weeks ago and were playing some kind of hip-hop music in another language.
We have a volunteer association..we plan to join. Not interested in joining the country club or playing golf.
This neighborhood is extremely quiet...not alot of loud music from cars passing by..so I guess there's not alot of teens living here.
Now that Sammy has joined the family..we may get to meet more neighbors when we take him for walks.

We’ve lived in our house for almost 22 years, it’s semi rural being that it is an agricultural community growing cranberries. Behind us is just cranberries, neighbors on the left moved in soon after we did, used to be friendly but dislike chickens and not outdoor people, nosey but quiet (but no veggies for them). Across the street are the long time people 40 + years very nice, they recently made the house into an inlaw with their adult son and family taking over the house, **he’s nice as well (they get veggies). We had a problem in the entire town recently with kids “tagging” everything with spray paint.
On a Sunday afternoon saw some teens out front (remember it’s rural) and could tell they were tagging the street signs. I called the cops and they caught them in the act, it turned out to be ** his son and he thanked me! To my right is the complainers (5 years) they don’t complain to us they call the board of health to complain we have chickens with permits for 21 years, NO VEGGIES! All in all it’s a very quiet area.

Our neighbours are all pretty great.

One mowed our lawn without even being asked to, when we were gone for 9 days this past week .....and last night about 10 the man across the street rang my doorbell to tell me my front sprinklers had been on for over an hour (an whole HOUR,OMG! he is one of those ten minutes every other day/shallow roots waterers).
Which I really appreciated though, because what if I had forgotten...good guy.

We are moving, as many of you know. I posed about Earl and Ralph and the Corona truck in my "Our New Neighbors" thread.
The other side is a little old lady, in what is supposedly a temporary situation. She's staying in a house owned by her son or something like that.
We may be neighborless for a while though. The lady's house and the next few up are supposed to get torn down within a year. Earl's house...well, that may be there for a while...
We have yet to meet the across the street neighbors...
