Reef Coco Beach
Just returned from rcb on Thursday the 19th after 14 days there.
Great resort and the freindliest staff that we have ever come across compared to several AI resorts that we have stayed at. Everyone speeks very good English.
The rooms are very nice and upgrades can be had, if available, for $25US per night which is what we paid. Some people got the upgrade free due to all other rooms being booked.
A word of warning tho, rumour had it that the resort is over-booking rooms at a rate of 5 to 25 rooms per day and we personally witnessed several upset couples at the front desk being shuttled to other resorts.
They were even offering 2 and 4 day trips and tours of the Yucatan Penn. and to other resorts to people on the last 3 or 4 days of their stay. This would free up rooms for other guests coming in to rbc. We did not try these tours and don't know of anyone who did so we cannot say whether it was a good deal or not.
Our safe in the room didn't work from day one and we were told several times "not today, maybe tomorrow". Never was repaired and we heard of several room s that had the same safe problem. Oh well, it saved us $3US per day and we had free use of the security box at the front desk.
Food is good and lots of varieaty even after 14 days. Two restaurants upstairs, one Italian and one Mexican. The Italian is the best one by far.
You must reserve these restaurants in the morning of the day you want to go there, and be advised, believe it or not they under-book these eateries for whatever reason. Walk by these places in the evening and you will see that they are never full even tho when reserving you will be told that these times are all booked up.
If you have any other questions ... feel free.
