The crap that goes on in Baseball with Management of the league and team ownership is where the heat should be, thats where the finger needs pointed. Big money destroys everything.

So what if a 66 year old salty dog of a player cussed in front of some kids. He is not of the "PC" generation. He spit nails and gave his heart to the game of baseball. He holds about 11 or 12 Major league records and was a two-time consecutive Golden glove winner in the OUTFIELD!! Not to mention MVP world series, THree titles under his belt and so on.

Do you think any of those kids were offended that Pete Rose cussed in front of them?? I doubt they cared one bit. It was just another media attempt to demonize a man, that was more to baseball through hard work and guts, than 3/4 of the players active today.

Yeah...he should be in the hall...because he makes up part of the mortar to its foundation.

Great career. Bet on baseball. Agreed to a lifetime ban. Lifetime ban included Cooperstown, and he knew it. Sorry dude, you made the deal.

So you would be ok with someone saying this stuff to your kid? What if your kids teacher talked like that ? Sorry but there is no excuse for anyone to address a group of young people in that manner. And yes he did agree to a lifetime ban because he not only bet on games but on games he was coaching. It simply makes it too easy to manipulate the outcome.
Why not just throw all of the rules out and let any pro player do any drugs they want and cheat to fix the outcome of the game. Pro sports have rules and the players do not get to pick and choose the ones they want to follow without there being consequences. I know that others have done what Rose did and he just was not even good enough at it to not get caught. If the hall were completly based only on skill then he would be there but it is also based on following certain rules that are there for all players.

If I had the opportunity to take my son to see Pete Rose, we would go to Burger King, instead. With Rose, you know what you are getting into. Parents have responsibilities to investigate.

Im saying let the punishment fit the crime. Not get carried away in the mud gathering tumbleweed of a witch hunt that the flag wavers and finger pointers do from their soap boxes. Do I condone an adult cussing in front of young kids...of course not...but if it was a 66 year old Korean war veteran that was doing it...people would turn the other cheek.

Its all B.S., politics and media hype. Pete agreed to the ban to try and get his life back as much as a guy like him could. He should be in the hall...but people like you would have him be in the hall strapped to a fence so 7 year old kids could throw fast balls at him all day and scream at him about how he ruined the image of baseball forever

Perfect example of sheep like behavior. Have you ever sat down and talked to Pete Rose...walked a mile in his shoes kinda thing?

What has your Investigation told you about Pete Rose?

Skiptown, I see where you are coming from. I am not sure about letting my kids see Pete Rose or not, all depends on age etc...a whole different discussion.

I don't see the drug connection though. Pete didn't cheat as a player, and I don't think he should go in the hall as a manager.

I understand the lifetime ban, he did accept that. Fine don't let him manage, don't let him go to events etc...don't let him make money from MLB. I still think he deserves to be in the Hall...there are pretty shady folks in there already.

It's all a moot point anyway....

That he bet on baseball, has a foul mouth, thinks he is God, has a persecution complex, and reneges on deals. Not the kind of person I want my kids idolizing. In short, a tool with a lot of talent.

Oh, I forgot, a bald face liar, to boot.
