Charlie Hustle Strikes Out Again
The Reds held an invite for kids to Cincinnati Reds Kids Day and of all the people to talk to them they had Pete Rose. He dropped not only the S**t bomb but the F**** bomb several times and told them that finishing second meant they were just losers. What a guy! This is for kids 7 to 14. Why would a team have a guy like this speak to anyone let alone kids?

Michael Vick is apples to oranges I think. Not going to be an issue anyway I don't think, statistically he isn't really all that good and he hasn't won anything yet.
Barry...at this point I would say yes. He hasn't been proven guilty of anything more then being a jerk. If he is proven guilty then I don't know... I say Rose is in based on what he did during his playing years on the field, nothing more, nothing less. |

Rose IS in the Hall of Fame, somewhat. Whatever MLB records he achieved, they are duly noted in the HOF, plus a lot of big pictures of him. I was surprised when I saw them, because I thought he had been totally banished.

Seems to me that more than a few of the HOF players were'nt angels.Who knows what those guys were drinking, shooting, or taking. You can't turn back the clock and drug test these guys after you have instituted a drug policy. As for Barry, no amount of steroids improved his eye and hand coordination, that is God given. I'm sick and tired of the media telling us how bad he is. I don't expect pro-athletes to be my childrens role models, I don't care if he's a jerk, I just love to watch him hit. Mike Vick? He's not even a very good quarterback, no loss if he goes down as far as I'm concerned. |

Rose is just another "demonized" individual in his chosen career. Every organization has to have their "example" of the fallen Angel. The higher ups are there to point the finger at him and say "If you work hard and do what your told, you can go far in the league". "But if you screw up you'll be a bum like this guy"
The crap that goes on in Baseball with Management of the league and team ownership is where the heat should be, thats where the finger needs pointed. Big money destroys everything. So what if a 66 year old salty dog of a player cussed in front of some kids. He is not of the "PC" generation. He spit nails and gave his heart to the game of baseball. He holds about 11 or 12 Major league records and was a two-time consecutive Golden glove winner in the OUTFIELD!! Not to mention MVP world series, THree titles under his belt and so on. Do you think any of those kids were offended that Pete Rose cussed in front of them?? I doubt they cared one bit. It was just another media attempt to demonize a man, that was more to baseball through hard work and guts, than 3/4 of the players active today. Yeah...he should be in the hall...because he makes up part of the mortar to its foundation. |
