The We-Really-Need-to-get-packing Weekday thread

Returning to work after a mini vacation to Boston. We had a wonderful evening with Nerak and Gasman at Nantasket Beach on the South Shore.

Emily (another friend, not a peep), Karen (Nerak), Susan (Susangria), David (Gasman)

Susan and David

A great one of Nerak & Gasman!!

Beautiful sunset!

But this week, the business travel resumes! Lafayette, LA on Tuesday and maybe back to Boston on Friday. All the while we move in a little over a week and most of our stuff isn't packed. Such is life!

Happy Monday everybody!

Josef, I think Tappy is from Lafayette????

Also, maybe it is time to consider hiring movers?? Two moves ago, we did this because I was already in the new city working. Two gals came in and packed everything in less than a day. It was amazing, convenient, and actually didn't cost a whole lot more than getting the stuff moved as well. It's something to look into, anyways.....happy moving!

Believe me, we are hiring movers, however we are packing most of our stuff ourselves. I have a relatively large collection of glassware (some of which are very expensive handblown pieces, and all of which are very fragile), so i'll pack those!

We decided that we could either pay September rent and move ourselves slowly, or take the money we would have spent on rent and hire movers. We've hired the movers!

I'm just coming in for half the day for a quick two hour meeting. Government work.....I get in around 11 and leave around 4. However, I'll be coming back several more times before the year is out so I'll definitely let you know if I plan to be in town more than just a few hours!

Hey! Thanks! No, we took quite a few more. There are lots of Emily's dachshund, and some shots of the Boston skyline from my friend Matt's roof deck. I don't have time to write a TR, but i'll post the pics here in a few minutes. I'm tending to tortellini right now!

I hope so! That is part of the reason we bought the house that we did...we won't have to deal with any renovations on move-in.

I remember when mom did her kitchen. She hhired a couple guys to do it on a recommendation from someone...they took almost twice as long as they said it would.
