Me too! I love jewelry. I have a souveigner from every trip I ever took. Needless to say, that makes lots of jewelry
Speaking of traveling, what do they do for vacation? Can you imagine them checking into a hotel!!! "What do you mean your rooms do not hold 19!"

IMHO, these people are freakin' nuts! 17 kids....AND all homeschooled?!
It would be impossible to TRULY get an education in that household. I could NEVER imagine having more kids, expecting my older children to give up their childhood in order to care for their siblings.....my mom was the last of 9...and this is why I am the ONLY....she NEVER wanted to burden her children.

I think it's great that they make it work, but I STILL think they are NUTS!!!

Children are a blessing, even 17, provided that you can give them all the love and attention in the world, why not? I don't plan in having any , but I totally understand people that want 17! Why not????

Having never had any yourself, I can actually understand how you can ask that question.

I'll start the list of reasons:

Diapers
Poop
Screaming
Crying
Tantrums
Dirty clothes
Worry
Dirty house
Insanity
Toys underfoot...

Someone else wanna take over from here?

(Don't get me wrong, I love my two sons and they made/make my life so much richer than it would have otherwise been. However, if there had been one more child in my care, I guarantee you that I would have totally gone over the edge. 17? HA! Never woulda made it to #4, myself.)

We were working on getting pregnant...then I started working in the schools...only took 2 days to make me realize I didn't want any. Slim didn't care either way. So..it was more like..if I get preggers, we will deal with it..if not ..so be it.
I also realized at that time just how brainedwashed young girls are...first toy...baby doll.

Oh yeah.. if they have anymore kids they should name it "bananas" after the bunch..ta dum dum.

I know, of course I forgot to mention the money factor, which plays a very important role ( 2 hearts and a hut is an utopy). In a VERY wealthy family with 17 children, most of the below problems could easily be avoided. But as you say, I don't have children so the nearest comment to having children would be on Emma, my niece: " by by Emma, auntie has to go now"- after half hour!

I'm surprised the Amish use hospitals at all. Besides, after your... oh... 6th or so... wouldn't it be like... okay, I won't say what I'm thinking, but wouldn't it be very straightforward and almost easy?

Okay, my wife has more time to screw around on playa.info nowadays than I do.

How sad is that?
