We need Keith to open up another bar in the area - to bring the crowds in!

O.K so now I have to ask this question and hope I do not blow my secret chinese rest. in playa. Has any one tried Comida China on 2 Calle and 10th, and is it still there? We found this place during hurricane Emily and it was the only place open for business during the power shut down becuase they were using a propane wok. I've been there several times since then and my Asian girlfriend was soo impressed that we've been coming back to eat there every since. My last visit was back in May. Ooh by the way they have the $ buck a scoop deal too!

If you want to avoid the "tourist zone" of Playa del Carmen altogether (although in my opinion, Calle 2 and avenida 10 isn't such a hot tourist destination), you could check out Hola Asia in Puerto Morelos. They have the best Asian food I've had here.

It would definitely be a big hassle to find street parking for your van at Calle 2 and avenida 10...you'd probably actually have to pay for parking (that isn't that much, though...I think the lots around there are about 10 or 15 pesos per hour). Traffic is terrible here, you've got that right. I drive around on a scooter so I'm spoiled.

Puerto Morelos is between Cancun and Playa del Carmen. I just love that little town.
