It's not nice to fool mother nature!

I ran across this cool NASA website which helps show the fragility of the ecosystem via photos from space. It focuses on disaster related item. You can click California for instance and see the smoke extending out into the Pacific.

EDIT] Forgot the link:EO Natural Hazards: Natural Hazards Main Page

melliedee, your pic of the gum reminded of a sketch on one of our news/comedy shows up here, the Rick Mercer Report, so I had to go look for it- open this page:

CBC Television - Rick Mercer Report

and scroll down to 'Week of October 31, 2006' and then play the clip called 'Minty Clean Air'.

Only until the big snowfall. Then it cuts out the cables. At that point we have to wait until our monthly trip by dogsled to town to catch up on the worldly news.

Man, you learn something new, every day. Here I was, under the impression that the St. Bernard brought the news along with the mini barrel of whisky.

We use those when we go out to hunt for our dinner, or to pick berries, etc. THe dogsled is for longer trips.

Ah! That explains it. Thanks.
Would wooden shoes work as well? We use those when we go picking tulips in the soft muddy fields (or polders, as we call 'em) you know...

Do the Polar Bears ever frighten you or your kids when you are clubbing your seals for dinner?

Do you wear them when repairing windmills? Are they noisey when executives walk into meetings?

Actually, we eat the St. Bernard in late January when we can't leave the house for about 3 weeks because of the blizzards and amount of snowfall.

That's of course assuming we have eaten all the seal pups that were in the freezer (AKA 'back yard') from the previous spring's hunt.

(you know what is really funny - Steve started this and he will get more snow in Colorado this winter than me and Ginger and Tommygurl put together! )

You can't fool me as I have read something that was either from........or maybe it was about.......Canada. Therefore I am an expert.

Even your Rick Mercer Report link included this segment about how there has been ,in the not too distant past, snow in Toronto!

No, of course not, silly. There's soft and thick carpets in them board rooms.
Sheesh... what were you thinking?
