His point at the end about organic dairy farming misses the boat. Of course those cows produces less milk. They are not hepped up on harmful steroids and pesticides meant to unnaturally increase thier milk production.

More harm than good is always a trade off and he makes some interesting points, imo.

I have rarely met a vegetarian that is actually healthy looking. They alwyas seem to be rather sickly.

I will fly to Mexico 3 times next year, hopefully on a plane that uses less fuel & discharges less crap into the atmosphere, but what the hell if it pukes a little carbon on it's way who cares I am on vacation.
Life is good

I'm still way out on thei global warming. Last night was one of the coolest nights I can remember for a mid August. You're gonna have to have a lot more evidence then some political consenses.

Well, uh, did the statute of limitations on the defacto ban against starting discussions on this topic just expire, or something? Because I've had 2-3 occasions (most notably I think recent with the cover of Newsweek focus on denialism on this topic) where I could have done so, but refrained. So I cry "foul" here.

I don't think the topic was ever banned. One of the threads was closed because it became "boring" to one of the mods. Even so, this thread is over a month old.

Are you making the argument that global warming must not be happening because you had a cool night in August, or am I reading this the wrong way?

lol Heather, that made me smile as I read it the same way....

Global warming is definitely happening in my book. The city I live in hasn't flooded in centuries. This July we had 2 months worth of rain in less than 12 hours and virtually the whole city flooded (I was very lucky - although my garden and detached garage were under a couple of foot of water, the house just managed to stay dry - unlike 16,000 others in the city). Two weeks before we had something similar but on a slightly lesser scale.

In fact, most of this "summer" its rained and rained and rained. It really was raining for "40 days and 40 nights" at one point!

Did I ever link global warming to the electoral college?

I feel certain that if I did, I must have had a good reason.

I was just joking, Mark. I know it wasn't banned. And yet I also did refrain from starting a discussion on the topic 2-3 times because of the closing of the other thread, too. FWIW.
