Good morning Loree. I'm just grabbing a piece of toast and then heading to the gym. I've got a busy day today. Lots of business right now. Also, we're helping our oldest son start his own business and have a ton of work for that, but it's good work.
Have a great day off!!! |

Morning all.
Workout at the gym?? Mow??? Not much going on here today. Have all three kids home today, as summer school is over for Michael now. Still working out from under the piles of vacation laundry. Have a friend coming over to see the mostly finished kitchen. Am going on Friday to help my sister decorate her house for my nephew's wedding on Saturday. So I'll have to wade through and organize my wedding/shower stuff. |

Couldn't get to sleep until 12:30am, wide awake at 4am, graveyard crew saw some ppl snooping around between 1-2am, truck was stolen, later found in town, no damage.
Was cold enough last night furnace was kicking in, leaves are changing color already, man it sucks here. Still too long until trip to Mexico................ Last edited by MikenJulie; 08-13-2007 at 09:05 AM.. |

so far, all I've done is catch up on some of the shows I have recorded.
I love that show "flip this house". Chuck told me last night he thinks he wants to move into his mom's house that we remodeled. We have been thinking about selling this big house for a long time and thought we'd sell his mom's house, too, but he was up there doing some work yesterday and asked me last night if I'd mind living there. (that was the original plan a year ago) All the houses he has seen lately need windows, a roof, an updated kitchen, etc..... We've already done that to his mom's house. I am really happy that he has decided to do that..............we could save so much money ............means more travel cash ![]() I do want to change the paint colors now, though. I just had it painted last year, but I changed my tastes already ![]() Char.........I hate doing laundry after vacation........that's why I get my laundry done the day before I come back home. All I do when I get home is put the clean clothes away ![]() Jaime, what kind of business are you starting with your son? |

(as usual). Just sold the boat this weekend and bought the car that we will be driving to Playa. One step closer to moving is how I look at it.

I am opening a long term- property management company. In my 13 years of traveling to this area, I have really seen the growth that has transpired. OK, I realize that there are so many others out there doing this but what I have found is that most of them cater to vacation rentals. Vacation rentals are good BUT what about the locals...There is nothing there for them. With the delevopment of the new international airport in Tulum and the projected growth for people living in the area, they have to have a resource for rentals. I'm a licensed Real Estate Agent in Texas, working on my brokers license; my background is RE, property management and leasing. I currently deal with investors from all of the country that purchase with the anticipation of holding on to their investment long term so I already have the investor base that is willing to purchase. With this said, all they care about is having a reputable company lease and manage their property and minimize their loss each month. They would like to realize a monthly cash flow but are satisifed being at the break even point. With virtually little expense for taxes, etc (mortgage excluded) they do not have to have 1% rental revenue each month. It's a win/win for all. Locals have a place to rent, investors have their properties occupied and are gaining equity and I get to move to Playa.

![]() Signs and marketing. He is a graphic designer. He ran his dad's (used to be mine too) company for the last 3 yrs. They had a falling out (his dad is a fruitcake ) and he decided it was time to go out on his own. So we're helping. He has a ton of customer support and should take off pretty quickly. It's an exciting time for him, but at 26, he's going to need some help with money management for a while, so that's where I'm coming in.
