Lizards, crabs and grasshoppers, Oh my!
I have a fear of lizards and as a child I was terribly afraid of grasshoppers. I'm afraid my vacation won't be as relaxing as I thought. LOL

Heather, thanks for posting the pics and the reports on the other thread and thanks to Tony and Cherry to give us a possibility to help by letting us use that paypal account!

Saw the pics too, and I can't help thinking how lucky we in PDC are that we didn't take a direct hit from Dean! Those further south in Mahajual weren't so lucky. Thanks to Heather, T & C, and Claudia for organizing a way for us to help...

That is so true Judy. a little hurricane wobble to the left or right at the last minute would have made it a whole other scenario

Playa looks great

I arrived in Playa on Wednesday, 1 day after Hurricane Dean, and have found it very difficult to tell that a storm passed through. If anyone is concerned about making or keeping reservations for Playa del Carmen, don´t worry, come on down. The town looks great.

Does anyone have any news about Casa Cenote? I saw a few photos, and the place looked pretty busted-up. The sailboat is now almost in the cenote, and there was some talk about the road being closed there.

Thanks Rick!

People need to hear that, as I'm sure many are still skeptical after Wilma. There was no damage to PDC and even if it were minor, that still wouldn't have changed my plans. I was worried that the beaches had been washed away but everything is just as beautiful as the day before.
As far as my plans go, I am booked and paid in full. Ready to relax and enjoy the famous mojitos on my hamock at La Tortuga.
P.S. Hi Anna!

i am happy for those who were spared damage and sorry for those who were not... been talking to lots of people from playa over the past few days and pretty much hearing the same things... playa is fine but down south is not. waiting for a few friends to take aerial and ground documentation. i hope sufficient supplies and aid are provided for those communities south.

it was more then tough to stay away from the media reports the night dean was making land fall..... glad that monster has past on.
