One day/night in Amsterdam!

In about 11 days myself and 3 friends will be traveling to Belguim for a week. Our last day/night will be spent in Amsterdam (as we will be flying out of there the next morning) I know NOTHING about these parts and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for MUST SEE'S? Remember, we will have about half a day and the full night! Thanks for your help!

Hi Linda, I'm the must see, I hope...
Not that I'm an authority guide myself (although I know my way around) but I strongly suggest to go on a canal tour by boat.
A fun thing to do also is a guided tour by bicycle.
And I suppose the red-light district is a must see.
That should keep you occupied for a while.

Yes Tony....was going to get with you to see if you can meet up with us. Will give you more details closer to departure date. The nite we are staying in AMS is Thursday Sept 6th, coming in by train from Brussels that day!
A canal tour sounds great! So does the red light district! Tour by bike, that seems like soooo much work!

I was there for one day only as well, years ago, and still regret missing the Anne Frank house/museum. Here is the website:

Museum - the official Anne Frank House website

I'll be trying to take a day (or half a day) off. Wouldn't miss it!
Chances are that I'll take the train to Amsterdam myself since it's convenient for me to do so.

Don't let the "hotel info" fool you. I looked at the website briefly and it seemed pretty useful for general tourist info as well.

It is indeed very impressive and humbling, but it can be very depressing also.
If you're visiting Amsterdam for not even a full day you probably do not want to move on feeling glum and have a sad memory when you think of Amsterdam.

Thanks Monica! I'm getting really excited about it, we've been planning this for 2 months now, just hope we don't have any problems getting on flights!

It has been kinda lousy summer so far.
You should expect upper 60's to lower 70's, and the occasional shower.
But HEY: you just asked a weather question!
