The former Blue Beach Hotel
For anyone interested I attach a photo (probably in an awkward way), of the site of the former Blue Beach Hotel at calle 14 and the beach. The photo was taken just before Dean so there are some raindrops on the lens. The new project will be El Taj Oceanfront a condo hotel project. Great site and beach front.

Our waiter at Kool Beach Club, Elder, worked at Blue Beach for 7 years. He said he was very sad when they closed. My favorite store, Siete Detalles, is right on that corner. If nothing else, I hope the new construction eventually increases Alicia's business.

Yes, it's a MUST!! Alicia is one of the nicest people I've met in Playa. She sold me some really cool bobbly-head dragoncitos for my students when they win bingo. She knows that I give them away to the kids learning Spanish so she practically gives them to me at cost. And her son makes some FINE pewter pieces! |

Ah man!!! I always wanted to stay there and never got a chance to. Same thing with the hotel that used to be across the street from Blue Beach...(me thinks across the street?)... The really pretty looking jungley place that's no longer... Anyone have a pic of that place?
