Hey..... when you live in a temperate climate (i.e. don't expect much more than a bit of persistent drizzle) and you have 2 months worth of rain in the space of only a few hours in July and as a result virtually the whole city floods purely from drains not coping and water table being too high... that's a bit rubbish!

Hi,

I am originally from Maidstone in Kent. I did a fair amount of business in Canterbury.
Enjoy your time here and be prepared to sell all you have and move here full time. It's VERY addictive.

Never knew there were so many Brits on here
I spent a fair amount of time when i was a lift engineer working in Kent.
Did quite a bit of work at ICI in a lovely little place called Yalding
There was a cracking little pub there where i lodged, right on the banks of the river.
Herne Bay ,Whitstable and Deal were all nice places as well.

Well, the summer that appeared to have fallen on the last Saturday of August this year appears now to be well and truly over. Its shitty and cold again this afternoon/tonight. Its been rubbish here this year it really has. The local news here earlier was also gleefully telling us that following the city flooding in July the drains still haven't cleared so as soon as it rains again when the proper non-summery seasons start we'll no doubt flood again. Oh joy of joys. Who wants to sell me some real estate in the sun?

That's it. It's been a few years since I've been there. I used to work and live not far from Yalding.
