Shucks folks, I was just injecting a bit of levity

I'm 3 hours behind some of you and those long transfer posts with all the $$$$$ is mind boggling to read before you've downed your 1st cup of java

I don' t know what the big deal is about transfers. I'm also a TA and I prefer having transfers with the Tour Operators. They are always there waiting for you. But sometimes you have no choice like me last November. My transfers were with bestday.com. They were right out the terminal waiting for me. Great service! Great Drivers! Loved Best Day.
As for shuttles, make sure that the time the shuttle leaves corresponds with your flight or else you'll be stuck waiting AND make sure the shuttle drops you off and pick you up at your hotel and not at the end of the street. It's a long way to walk with heavy luggage.
Personally, I always prefer to book with transfers included. No hassle.

I personally, always skip the included tour operator transfers (if it applies to my trip) and do private. I want to get to where I'm going quick and easy - no stops, hit the ground running as soon as I walk out of the airport.

Yes, I am spoiled.

since they began offering it, I've been doing the direct transfer offered by Apple. Its now $30 pp round trip and is kind of the best of both worlds. I don't have to sit on the bus and stop at every single hotel and I can rely on the fact they will get me where I'm going.

Still good prices

I wish I could have gotten the rock bottom prices but there are still some really fantastic ones out there. Does anyone have any info on what the Platnium room is?? It is just barly in my price range and I want to be sure it is worth it before I book. Any thoughts???
Thanks so much!!!

My fiance and I booked our honeymoon here and reserved the platinum suites, mainly because we wanted an ocean view. The price was great we book through vacation express, and since the airfare has gone up but I think the price is still great comparing other 4-5 star. We like the perks that come with it too. We are going June 16-23. Our transfers with VacaExp was $50 round trip, I thought not to bad. Does anyone have suggestions on guarenteeing an ocean front other than just requesting with travel agent? Also we have never been to a resort of any kind or out of the US so any suggestions on excursions worth the extra money in Riviera Maya? Anyone going at this time? Thanks all!
CAN"T WAIT FOR THE BEACH!!!!

Welcome to the party! Carole Lacomb will be there getting married with 60+ people, We will be there 17-24 with 29 people. There is plenty to do in the Maya Riviera including nothing. Fat Cat is a great excursion, we are thinking of doing a private excursion with them. Akumal is a must. Great snorkeling and great food down there. As far as getting an ocean front, e-mail reservations a week before you get there and request it.

We're not a big group, but my husband and I and our two daughters ages 12 and 10 will be there June 14-21 in a swim up room. I hope the wedding is somewhere we can all catch a glimpse. My brother was married in Hawaii a few years ago, and after they were pronounced husband and wife, there was all this applause (there we only about 10 of us attending - small family), we turned around, and all of these guests were out on their balconies watching the whole thing. It was sooo neat. Very memorable.

FutrMsCombs. I agree with Chris' suggestions. We also have done the zipline(canopy tour) and it was a blast. We will be there from the June 14- 21. Maybe we'll run into you. We have a group of 14 going. You will LOVE the area and start to plan your next trip before you leave. Congrats on your up coming wedding.
