Sun Seeker, I'm not an expert, but the Grand Sunset Princess is scheduled to open December of this year so I think the risk of them not being open by April is minimal. The problem is no one really knows what the hotel like so that aspect is a gamble.

Hello Everyone,
I'm a travel agent from Québec and I booked 60 people at the G.Sunset for one week (June 20-26) I actually I booked for my own wedding. Guess we will be several groups at the same time and if you see a wedding go on, stop by and say hello... BTW, I'm going for a two week vacation leaving Nov. 23rd and I have an appointment with the general mgr of the hotel, at the Sunset Princess on Nov. 28th. Will keep you up-to-date on whats happening. |

Yes, any updates would be much appreciated! I am very excited/nervous about this resort. I have all the confidence in the world that this resort will be great...but there is still a part of me that is a little worried about it. Please let us know anything that you can find out about it. Thanks!

I read somewhere that the Riviera side of the resort is for the European market, while the sunset side is for the north american market. Well, if this is true then for some strange reason Junjet (an american based company, as far as I can tell) only booked for the riviera side of the resort. Does anyone knnow if this information is true?

Alle the Mark Travel brands (Funjet, United Vacations, Spirit Vacations, etc.) are booking the Riviera side. It makes no difference, it just depends on the tour operator. Book the side that comes in with the best price.

I don't think that the Riviera is only for Europeans because we sell it from here in Montreal with Air Transat.
Just received word from the general manager of the Sunset Princess. I have a meeting with him on Nov.28th at the hotel and he told me to tell the cab driver that it is right next to the Fairmount Mayakoba. I know that the beach is really nice at the Fairmount. I will take alot of pictures and give everyone an update on this hotel. |

Sure hope it's nice
Hi, add us up as another 2 couples that have booked the Grand Sunset Princess. We are going the beginning of May. It is our first trip to Mexico and our first experience in an AI. I will be looking forward to all of your reports once the resort has opened. Thanks for all of the good advice I have already read on this board. Now we can finally relax and wait for May.

June is seeming to be the the large group party time. AlandJane 32 people 6/20, We are at 29 6/17 and Carol with 60 6/20! Carol I guess we are neighbors, we are from the Burlington VT area, loved Montreal when the dollar was stronger
. It will be a pleasure to crash your wedding! |
