My quote function is screwy. I meant to bold your last sentence.

Can't quote, can't cook.

I don't really follow either Katy....I mean, all moms (whether stay at home or work outside the home moms) do portions of a doctor or nurse's job too....that doesn't make them fit to be able to do what a doctor or nurse does, right?

I mean, we ALL do things like that in our everyday lives, don't we?

Kayt, one more thing because I don't want you to feel misunderstood. I don't think having a degree in anything necessarily makes that person better at thier job. Some of my favorite writers are "civilians" with no formal training from the academy. Just as some folks are intuitive homemakers, parents, cooks, interior designers, gardeners...

Of course not just anyone can do it. I don't think I could? It takes skill, compassion and intelligence. The university degree that started this thread is more about keeping women in thier "place," which I do not agree with at all.

I wonder what would happen if they "failed out?"
Maybe they would never be able to get married, or worst yet, become Unitarian

Yep-I don't like the subservience aspect either. I find it interesting that these folks feel threatened enough to do something like this. Maybe it is an indicator that we are making some strides to equality .

LOL!!

And how about this one:
"She also allegedly told deputies that she'd taken Percocet, a prescription painkiller for 'when the kids are acting wild.'"

I did not know that was what percocet was for - don't think they teach that in the Homemaker courses, either.

LOL - no, she meant she took it, for when the kids acted up.
Wonder if that's on the label anywhere?

Besides, if she gave it to the kids then they couldn't drive.

that's true! cuz it says right on the bottle not to drive when you're taking those... she'd be silly to not follow those safety precautions....
