Definitely strikes home here--being married to a firefighter. My heart goes out to those families, wives, children and parents.
We make a habit of never saying goodbye in the morning-more of have a good day and I'll see you later. And always a phone call at night to say goodnight. I'll be thinking of all of the brothers today and especially Boston! |

It breaks my heart to hear stories like this. I too, am a wife of a volunteer firefighter (on call 24/7/365) & Mom to a junior firefighter who in October will start with full firefighting duties once he gets his first level (that doesn't include 2 brothers that are also firefighters). It scares the crap outta me when the pager goes off & I don't often rest easy until I know they are safe BUT with that being said, they all feel it's something they must & truly want to do as I think all firefighters feel that way. I can only have faith that they will be looked after & not come to harms way. Oh yeah, and any prayers would always be gratefully appreciated. My prayers & thoughts are going to those families & brave people who do the job on Boston.
