As a white, 46 year-old heterosexual, could someone please tell me how I am supposed to feel about the issues. I don't want to think for myself, and prefer to go the way of the mob.

On the voting against gay marriage thing, I don't see hypocrisy. Voting not to make gay-bashing a hate crime, well, I feel differently about that. I must have read things the wrong way when I formed my earlier opinion, as I thought he voted for making gay-bashing a hate crime.

But of course you weren't referring to me, right?

I agree, you should quit voting the Republican line. The majority in that party currently believes in ruling our private lives. Banning Gay Marriage, limiting gays in the military, outlawing abortion, limiting stem-cell research . . .

Why don't you try filing those fangs down a bit and see if he doesn't change his tune...

Good point. I'm sure there were some black congresspeople who voted AGAINST the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965. I think they called themselves "log cabin" blacks.

So mark, if it were presently illegal for you to enter into a heterosexual marriage, would you vote AGAINST legislation allowing it?

Just wondering...

No its a straw man arguement. Its completely rediculous to think that just because he is gay or bi that he HAS to believe in gay marriage...would it be possible for a gay or bi person not even to believe in marriage at all for anyone? Would they then be a hypocrite?

If a married heterosexual person believed in gay marriage would this somehow make him or her now a hypocrite as well?? I kinda always thought a person could take a stand or a belief in an issue without regards to their sexual preference...silly me.

2nd, Why ban gay marriage? If a gay doesn't want to get married they don't have to, no one is forcing it on them. But allow gay couples to get married, why ban it? (I'm not a teacher, so I'm allowed to get away with poor grammar and spelling)
