Does booze ever go "bad" in storage??
Help!!
I'm packing (I think I might have mentioned that about 5 gazillion times in the last week or so). Today I opened a storage cabinet and discovered MANY bottles of booze that I had moved from my father's place when he passed away in 1999. Some have been opened (gin, vermouth, assorted whiskeys); some are still in gift boxes (i.e. never opened). Is this stuff still any good?? I don't want to bother moving all this liquor if there's no chance it can be drunk or given away (Would it wrong to tip my new paperboy with a bottle of Canadian Club? I think there are 4 gift boxes of that in there - some probably from 1970's ).

booze only gets better tasting with time. especially whiskey. you might have some pretty good stuff there. i've got a 30 year old bottle of whiskey that i drink on "special" occasions that is freakin awesome. i just finished off a 41 year old bottle of crown that was incredible. i can send you my address if you like.

I always thought that some booze got better with age...but maybe that is just certain kinds. I say keep if for emergencys..in case you have a long Boston winter and cant leave your house for weeks......or just serve it to people who you dont want to share your good stuff with !!!
