Thank You Texas......
It is now the law.....
Repeat sex offenders who prey on young children will face the ultimate wrath of the state -- death by lethal injection -- under a proposal unveiled Tuesday by Republican Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst. The proposal is aimed at combating what Dewhurst, leader of the state Senate, calls an "epidemic" of sex crimes targeting children. Under the plan, those who sexually prey on children under 14 would receive no less than 25 years in prison for a first conviction. "And heaven forbid you should ever do it a second time," Dewhurst said. "It's the death penalty." Republican Attorney General Greg Abbott, who has made cracking down on sex offenders a major plank of his re-election campaign, also favors the death penalty for repeat child sex offenders, aides said. Also another move in the right direction: Intellegent Gun Law Passed in Texas Criminals in Texas beware: if you threaten someone in their car or office, the citizens of this state where guns are ubiquitous have the right to shoot you dead. Governor Rick Perry’s office said on Tuesday that he had signed a new law that expands Texans’ existing right to use deadly force to defend themselves “without retreat” in their homes, cars and workplaces. “The right to defend oneself from an imminent act of harm should not only be clearly defined in Texas law, but is intuitive to human nature,” Perry said on his Web site. The new law, which takes affect on September 1, extends an exception to a statute that required a person to retreat in the face of a criminal attack. The exception was in the case of an intruder unlawfully entering a person’s home. The law extends a person’s right to stand their ground beyond the home to vehicles and workplaces, allowing the reasonable use of deadly force, the governor’s office said. And also today another law went into effect basically saying that if a dog seriously injures or kills someone it would be a felony charge on it's owners.
This happens one day after a 6 year old child was killed here in the Dallas area by the family's pet Pit Bull...a one year old dog that had reportedly never attacked or bitten anyone before. |

Will show this to Henry in case he hasn't read the news on it already. He has begun to mention Texas over South Carolina for retirement
![]() He is a police officer. When I moved in with him I told him I wanted to learn how to shoot very accurately. I didn't want to take a life, I wanted to be able to take out a knee cap to thwart an attack. He said, "Honey, do you want to spend years fighting a bass akwards law suit for maiming someone who invaded our home?" "No", I replied. "Well, then, let me tell you something, if I come to a crime scene in my own home and you shot at an invader, I damn well better need to draw a chalk outline." "That's harsh, honey," replied my naive self. "That's reality, babe." said he. |

Are they considered dangerous? ![]() I know they're strong but I've always been amazed at how gentle they are. |
