Senator Craig - "If You Were Gay" video!

I've bragged on the board before about Kelli's best friend who wrote a broadway musical, "Avenue Q," that won 3 Tony awards (including best musical!) in 2004. Well, one of the hit songs from the show is a video "If You Were Gay." Someone took video of that number, video edited it in with Sen Craig's "I Am Not Gay" speech, and it is HILARIOUS!!! Only a minute and a half long, take a look!





P.S. I had recently written on another thread that we were trying to set up some time to send Iain out to stay with his gay "Uncle Jeffie." *THIS* is that Uncle Jeffie - Jeff Marx. We would love Iain to learn show business!

This is classic. Here we have a "joke" about the Senator's sexual preference while in another thread we have people getting completely bent about some comments and a picture referring to Senator Clintons cleavage and thighs.

So Ryberg, where are you to speak to this? Bonnie, got any comments? Sol, care to comment? Just Lucky, is this ok with you? Melliedee, what say you since you were apalled by the Hillary comments? Heather, you started the whole debate in the other thread, anything to add on this? Roni, you said those jokes were "in poor taste and should be discouraged", isnt this as well?
If youre gonna make a ruckus about the other, why not this?

Just to clarify:

This video I've posted is in bad taste, is awful, is nasty, and is very, very bad.

To clarify further, neither Bonny, nor JL, nor Sol nor ANYONE else encouraged me to post this. I am participating in the mockery of this two faced hypocrite of my own accord. If anyone cares to blast me on this video - please go right ahead (my "circular file" is open and ready!)

To clarify even further, if jokes about Sen Craig's situation offend you, then don't watch this video.

Keep in mind, of course, that this is NOT about making fun of someone that is coming out of the closet! (Which, by the way, Craig has NOT done - not admitting that he is either gay or bisexual is part of what makes his situation so ridiculous!) What this IS about is making fun of someone who has chosen to become a public figure and has used his position as a public figure to attack President Clinton for having an extra-marital affair and make "morality" and "family values" a strong part of his platform.

Really, the purpose of this thread was not to retread ground covered in Mark's hypocrisy thread, but rather to simply share a funny video.

The video is not funny; it's inappropriate. I think about his wife and all of the stuff she is going through...his family as well. Craig has never dealt with his sexuality in a healthy manner. He was afraid to come out and chose to prioritize his political career. I am not surprised because the attitude towards gays and lesbians of his generation. And being an Idahoan, that just complicates things for Craig more. So, the guy is in the closet and in a lot of pain because he won't let himself live his life the way in which he wants. Now that he is older...he got busted and he is still trying to convince himself that he is not gay...what a shame...this is very sad. The guy has totally brainwashed himself. Craig's career started in Washington when some "dirty little secrets" were well kept. The old boys clan here in Idaho were going to keep mum about Craig because the guy followed their agenda and got what they wanted done. Plain and simple. Besides this, Craig resigned yesterday...that sends a strong message...so time to back off?
