Slept really well Saturday morning…. Didn’t wake up till 4:20 AM

…….. put on some coffee and surfed the internet for a while, then I grabbed my fishin gear and headed down to the lake…… I was kinda concerned about walkin down to the lake so early in the dark since the night before I had asked Jacko if there were still any bear in the area…….

“Oh no, not with all the rednecks around here, they shoot them”

cool......... that makes me feel much better knowing that !!!

of course, 5 minutes later, I overheard Linda talking about 3 bears wandering across the property and breakin into the bird feeders and stuff

………. Oh well, bears aren’t much scarier than the cougars at our house, so I kept on walkin……… got to the dock just before 6:00 and got the poles ready…….. made a few casts and then I noticed Bonny walkin down the hill……. COOL !!!

....... she actually woke up this morning !!!

........ first off, Bonny gives me this bogus “Oh, I’ve never fished with artificial lures”

……… so, being the sucker I am, I gave her my new magical ultralight rig with a silver and black beetle spin and gave her some instructions on keeping the rod tip high, engaging the reel as soon as the lure hits the water, and setting the hook as soon as you feel the fish bump the lure……… damn!!!!....... wasn’t expectin a woman to actually pay attention…….. on her second cast, she hooked up on a small bass !!!

Bonny was stoked…. And so was I …. Until she started draggin in fish after fish !!!

.......... pretty much got my butt kicked 4 to 2 this morning

….. Bonny even completed a triple play….. she caught a bass, a croppie, and a couple of bluegill

…..but it was all good, hangin out with Bonny is truly a secial event and I enjoyed every minute of it……. of course, being a chick, I did have to help her unhook a couple of the fish (gratuitous cheap shot to help restore my male ego)

………. I think we fished for about 2 hours or so and then walked up to Jacko’s to visit for a few minutes before getting cleaned up for breakfast……… went back to the room and woke up Lil G and after a little grumpin and squinty eyed “I wanna sleep till 11:00” looks, we were headin up to Seasons for another incredible buffet breakfast…….. I pretty much got into a breakfast rut during our stay…. Cheese grits on scrambled eggs w/ 42 pieces of applewood smoked bacon on the side

……… it was a full crowd for breakfast and we ended up talking for quite a while afterwards…….. getting my butt kicked at fishin was quite exhausting, so I headed back to the room and crashed out for a while ……..a planned short nap turned into a 2 ½ hour power nap and when I woke up, I stumbled downstairs with nappy hair and ran straight into Linda’s wine and cheese social hour……..

oh crap!!! I thought she was throwin this gig down at the restaurant…….. I chose to ignore any concerns of personal appearance and had a piece of cheese and some of the Chocolate Decadence cake that Linda had on the counter …… damn, this stuff makes my teeth hurt…. But it’s soooooooo good !!!............... can’t remember what I did the rest of the afternoon....

..... maybe I worked on my Fanstay Football lineups for Sunday’s game……...whatever I did, I’m sure it required very little effort on my part

………. I did however, take a shower and put on some of them fancy leather shooes that have the fake shoe laces and you don’t have to wear socks with, a silk shirt, and some fancy shorts for the evening’s big peep dinner/wine tasting event and technically, me and Lil G’s 12th anniversary dinner……Lil G got all purtied up in a lil black dress and face paint and she was pretty much smoking hot !!! ( I hope it was a black dress she wore that nite)……… Our dinner that night at the Seasons was as mind blowingly awesome as before…… had a great time conversing with all the peeps (well except for MWC and Don Gregorio whoe were runnin late from a day trip), what a great collection of fine people!!! ......Terri had some fancy herb laced crab cakes and I had duck breast done medium rare and served w/ some kinda funky sauce on a bed of fresh asparagus and some kinda sweet veggie combination …….. I know MsRubio has posted the pics of all the dinners that nite in Jacko’s peep meet thread…..... all I can tell you is it’s 1000% better than it looks in those pics

………can’t say enough about Jacko’s restaurant, it’s simply an incredible experience, please put it on your list of things to see and do!!! ……… dinner got started late and dragged on with after dinner conversation and confusion, so the wine tasting event didn’t get going until almost 10:00……… I thought it was gonna be just an hour of swiggin some different wines, but Jacko had prepared a mini wine tasting/appreciation class…… first thing I asked when I walked in and saw all the charts lined up was “Is there gonna be a test at the end of the class???”

……. I think a few other peeps were kinda worried about that as well…… it was pretty cool though, learnin how to swirl and sniff wine and how it tastes with tomato, blue cheese, small squeeze of lemon, and a pinch of pepper rolled gently in a fresh organic spinach leaf

I swear Bonny is my long lost big sister cuz not only because she's a fishin fiend, but she was rolling up the same appetizer over at her table !!!

........…… I did manage to finish the white wine section, but I think I did poorly as far as true understanding

…….. but honestly, that damn JamesA. & Julie were distracting me with all their thumb wrestling wars and other handsy games they were playing while I was trying to get some educationing

……. My aversion to wine finally resulted in me goin into tequila withdrawal shakes, so Michelle the bartender quickly rushed a shot of Don Julio and a lemonade over to me

She got there just in the nick of time…. I coulda died !!!!

........ I had only slept a total of 7 ½ hours in the two previous nites combined, so around 11:00 the wine and tequila were turning my brain off and me and Lil G said our goodbyes and went back to our plush Woodward House Room #5 ....... seems most of the other peeps went over to Jacko’s place and kept drinkin till 2:00 or 3:00 in the morning and got all silly ……….. and ya’ll say us Texans are wild partiers

…….. I went to sleep dreamin about another morning of getting my butt kicked in fishing by Bonny

I gotta say...the peep meet that this thread is about shows exactly, perfectly, wonderfully, without exceptuion, absolutely, magically, etc, etc, etc...all that is perfect about this forum and it's members.
