Henriette

I know it's the other coast, that is why it is off topic.
Yesterday it looked like she would just strike a glancing blow to Los Cabos, but today it looks like she is going to hit them spot on. She has already caused fatalities in Acapulco. Cross your fingers for the Baja

It seems no one cares about natural disasters if they are not affecting their condo or favorite hotel. I see the Felix thread has not moved in hours as well.
Or maybe I'm just a thread killer

There's just too many! It's overwhelming.

Or, maybe you're just a thread-killer.

No, no, its not just you thats watching the path of the other ones. I've almost become a tropical storm/hurricane obsessive since the week before Dean made landfall in Mexico. Constantly logging on to the NHC website, following the updates to the advisories, the projected paths/computer models etc.

Mexico as a whole has been hit particularly hard this season. Every one of its coasts has been hit in some way by either Dean or Henriette, not to mention the damage sustained inland. I was seeing on Fox News a little while ago (I am limited for choice of US channels here in the UK) that its the first time x2 category 5 storms have made landfall in this area since 1886! Unfortunately they also said that there are x6 more storms forecast before the end of this season, x3 of which they predict to be bad.

I didnt know till this morning that there was a storm over there. The rain we are getting in Texas this week is supposed to be from her though. I hate to see any of them develope.

Where in TX are you? I know there has been major flooding problems down there, hopefully not by you. We have friends in Lubbock and on its current track that is where the residual rainfal will hit, so I'm a little worried

Mexivoof we are just south of Houston in Pearland. It has rained every day for the past week and we are a little water logged. No flooding and I hope the rest of the state fairs as well. We have had one soggy summer, but the mosquito crop is doing very well.

We had a lot of rain here in August too. It has finally dried out but we also have a Bumper crop of mosquitoes here; which is unusual in the city.
As a totally non-meteorologist, it looks like we'll get more rain from Henriette than you. Good luck!
