Keys to a next life
Keys to a next life.
Today I picked up mine after signing a lease for a 2-room appartment. The place itself isn't much spectacular, but it will become the place that I will call "home" within the next couple of weeks. ![]() So why the thread title? A couple of months ago my wife ran off with a guy she "met" in an internet chat room, leaving me with a house I could impossibly afford on my own. Hence the upcoming move, since my new home is almost half the rent compared to the one I will leave behind. Life has been hell sometimes over those last couple of months and financial resources have practically dried out and divorce is still pending, but getting those keys today is one of the first steps into a next life. To give an idea where my new hometown Uithoorn is here's a map. My current town is Hoofddorp, left center. Our national airport Schiphol is right in the middle. The red arrow points at Uithoorn. I work in Bovenkerk, which is part of Amstelveen, so I'll be conveniently closer to work. ![]() I'll be living in the small town center, practically in the middle of this satellite pic: ![]() Here I am checking out the living room ![]() Me and my mother in the kitchen The door to the right leads into the bedroom and through there you can also see the door to the bathroom. ![]() View ![]() Another view. On the left you'll see the bedroom windows. ![]() In the middle of the previous pic you may be able to spot a lamp post in the distance. Here it is again, zoomed, and as you can see I have a view over the river Amstel, which leads directly to Amsterdam and gave Amsterdam it's name. ![]() Shops are practically on my doorstep, which is also pretty convenient. Finding a place like this for the monthly rent it will cost is very hard to get, so I consider myself very lucky! Life may be good after all. ![]() Oh... and y'all are invited for a house warming party!
