IMHO the best camping site is Quiet Camp. It's on the OCF website. You can pay for your camping spot through there. Also, on this website you can buy your tickets so that you can enter the fairgrounds. I liked this campsite because it was not crowded and not too noisy. There is some singing and drumming going on but it doesn't get as loud as some of the other places. Frankly, I don't care..it's so fun to be there so I just go with the flow. The other camp sites are closer to the entrance; this one is about a 30 minute walk to the entrance to the fairgrounds. The campsite has water for showers, public bathrooms (the porta-outhouse type) You can park your trailer there. This campground allows RV's, trailers, and campers. We saw a couple of huge RV's there and some trailers. One man had a great mini kitchen trailer. He had everything he needed to cook some great meals for his sons and himself. If possible, it is best to arrive on Thursday as early as possible. I believe the campground opens up at 10:00am. No fires, but propane stoves are allowed. The description of Quiet Camp on the website will indicate that no drugs, or alcohol is allowed, but lots of folks were having a great time. ![]() . We took plenty of beer and Don Julio. Also, even though it indicated that no dogs were allowed, I saw a bunch of people with their dawgs. Folks were pretty good about keeping their hounds on leashes. We didn't take our girls because we thought it would get too hot to leave them in the camper during the day. Dr. Bonny will be able to to make some of her tasty margaritas. What else...the campground has a little store and a couple of concession areas that serve breakfast and dinner. Breaky is pretty good. Dave got some kind of salmon,/cheese/ pesto omelet.

I'm getting psyched - and skinny enough to wear the fairy costume that won me a prize 13 years ago. Mebbe Kathy will wear hers also, if people asked her nice and everything
They are kindy semi-transparent, though

I have no invitation for the wedding yet...other than a text message. Yes folks tezt messaging an invitation to your son & family to come to your wedding does not count in my books. I am hoping to do some recon work this weekend to find out if said wedding is taking place on the same day as the Oregon State Fair. Wish me luck.

Here is the Quiet camp website.
OCF Quiet Camp website They say they prefer cash at the gate. We will plan to arrive there that Thursday morning before they open. If enough of us do, we can probably all arrange ourselves in an area. I emailed them (link at the website) and will report what they write back Ron I am excited about this. |
