Can you suggest an awesome Travel Agent to deal with

Could you suggest a great Travel Agent....we are planning on Playa in June 2008...a fairly large group, looking at 17 couples, maybe a few more and a few kids...Staying at AI Iberostar Quetzal....will need airflight/resort....
I am in Louisisana...and for some reason when we went this year, the girl in charge of making reservations and all had a hard time finding an agent, I am not sure why but she had to go thru agent out of Tx....
I am considering using the same, but would like to get a few quotes from others...this year agent was Tramax out of Austin
Thanks for any and all helpful info...

Hey I am from Louisiana (Lafayette) !!! Where are you from in the Bayou State ???

You know that you can do most of the pricing online yourself with Apple Vacations or Funjet if you are just looking for quotes.

My 2 cents - I would never ask Shams or any Travel Agent to do all the legwork for me - then go book with some one else. That is really kinda rude to do that to ANY travel agent...because their time is money....just my humble opinion.

Hijack..... Speaking as a realtor, I appreciate the truth in that statement Wish I had a dollar for every person who told me they had a dozen agents looking for houses for them

Golly!

All I can say is that price shopping isn't always all it's cracked up to be, usually one agent pricing a specific trip comes in with a price very similar to another. There are times when one price might blow another out of the water, or that can't be matched by another agent - that's life. The best thing you can do is find an agent that you feel comfy working with, who is responsive and has your best interest in mind. Working on a trip for 17 couples is no easy task, trust me, it's quite time consuming so that's something you'll want to keep in mind as you begin your quest.

um-I don't think she's been mentioned yet, SHAMMY! She has done awesome work for us and really went to bat for us when we were having issues w/our tour operator.
