There are numerous tour operators that carry the Royal PDC, any travel agent could research the rates with these suppliers and book it.
P.S. The Royal isn't booked for those dates, not even close to being booked. |

I removed your e mail addy Steve - never post your personal e mail address on a public forum or you'll have an inbox full of Viagra, etc. ads!!! If you must put the address out there for viewing, put brackets [ ] around and spell the @ and . symbols, such as this:

Is the Royal PDCOverbooked?
I'm getting a little skeerd, someone mentioned that the Royal over books and when I go to their direct site and key in October 26th to get price quotes, it comes up indicating they are full. I booked our week using our RCI week and I have a feeling they probably look at us as bottom of the totem pole customers and will send us packing to Cancun, which I absolutely do NOT want. I sure hope this doesn't happen.
![]() I also copied the map of all the rooms that someone posted here and had a question, why do some of the rooms have two colours blue and green? Green is for the Junior Suite and Blue is for the Junior Suite with Oceanview, but for example, rooms 325 and 335 are both blue and green, anyone know why this is? Keep your fingers crossed for us that we get a room and hopefully not one on the ground floor. Cheers, Last edited by a1vacation; 09-20-2007 at 06:06 PM. |

I only know the Gran Porto Real to overbooks from time to time, haven't heard much talk of this happening at the Royal, they seem to manage their reservations better. I send a lot of people to this hotel and none have been bumped or asked if they want to go to the Royal in Cancun. But....an RCI member (or a Hotels.com/Orbitz/internet booker) would likely be one of the first asked to move, or forced to take an involuntary bump IF the hotel did indeed overbook - and they may contact you prior to your arrival if this does happen. But being sold out and oversold are two different things, and you won't know if the hotel is oversold until you get there or if they call you a day or so ahead of time.
I did check with a few suppliers for availability and the hotel is VERY full for the entire month if Oct. Not sure what's going on there but I did not see any rooms left for your dates. For both jr. suites and jr. suite ocean view's - there are a few rooms available from 10/14-10/18, and then starting back up again on 10/28. |

Sold Out or Over Sold?
Thanks for responding everyone, I too thought October was slow. I guess we'll just have to wait with baited breath as to whether they've just sold out or over sold. I'm definitely going to cry if I'm told I have to go else where, and I refuse to go to Cancun. This will put a damper on the trip, especially since I've been talking Playa up so much to my sister that she finally agreed to come. Oh well, not much I can do now, other than wait and if worse comes to worse, I'll go to Luna Blue and see if I can get our room for the whole time instead of just the last 3 days of our trip.
mikyd1954, if we do get a room at the RPDC, hopefully we can meet up and have a drink, or two, or three......

I am at the Royal PDC NOW. I think they might have been overbooked because friends got - and took - and offer to move to the cancun royal.
SO HAPPY with the accommodations, food, service here. I leave Sunday. Cant wait to come back. |

Also, this is my sister's first time to Mexico and I've talked about Playa so much she finally agreed to go, which is why I have my heart set on Playa. We're staying at Hotel Cielo or first night, then RPDC (I hope) and then Luna Blue, I mixing it up a bit for her. Cheers, |
