Excursions at RPDC?
Going to RPDC in late Nov. wanted to do an excursion or two, do they book them at the resort or am I better off elsewhere? Never been to Playa Del Carmen only Cancun, what is a must do excursion? Any advice would be great, thanks.

You can book them there, Best Day has a desk in the lobby. We chose to book our own and saved a couple of dollars. We wanted the flexibility to be able to go on our schedule. I have read numerous posts on this web site that playa.info is a great place to book an excursion.

i know they have a place to sign up in the lobby there. We were lazy and didnt do anything this time so I have no personal experience but our friends went on one through the hotel and enjoyed it.
I've also heard that Playa.Info has some great tours with some guide that everyone raves about....I think his name is Mitch ![]() ![]() James do I get extra credit points for this ![]() Last edited by kayt707 : 09-25-2007 at 05:07 PM. |

yes, you are better off booking them with this site, Playa.Info. Better prices, better service and premiums, like free t-shirts and stuff. Plus, this site gets a free bowl of soup when you use our services, which helps feed the monkeys that keep the servers running.

I have swum with dolphins when in Cuba a couple of years ago. It was in the middle of the ocean somewhere (our boat dropped anchor at a pen and a pier in the middle of the sea) and it wasn't very enjoyable - partly because it was the first time I had been plonked in the middle of the ocean miles from anywhere and I couldn't get the bloody "Jaws" theme tune out of my head
but also partly because there were about 30 of us in the water at the same time and the dolphins just swum around the edge of the group. Not exactly what I had thought the experience would be.At the risk of being struck down myself... ... I would like possibly to have a dolphin swim again while I am in Playa, this time more of the "proper" experience. Although I would love to do it, I am not a diver and daren't venture out into the open sea for a chance encounter so (awaits lightening bolt) am considering one of these "parks".I am travelling alone though and am aware some of these places are only enjoyable if you have others with you and are wanting to spend the whole day there. On that basis, would you recommend Xcaret? |

I actually only did the swim at Xcaret so I have never been to the actual park! The Dolphin Swim would be just fine for you by yourself as they put you in a group of 6-8 anyway. There were a few people by themselves & they joined us! Have a great trip! ![]() |
