My wife and I will renew vows in Playa del Carmen
Hola Playa People,
Courtney (33)and I (35) have been married for 12 years, have three daughters, jobs and never really had a decent honeymoon. We did the Honeymoon cruise thing to Bahamas, but Courtney stayed sick the entire time. (not sure if it was the ocean motion or the 8 week old fetus in her womb). Lol. Anyway, I recently surprised her on her Bday with two plane tickets to Playa del Carmen Nov 15 thru Nov 19 for a well-deserved getaway. I am thinking of staying at the Gran Porto Real in a Jr Suite, Oceanfront. I have also looked into renewing our vows and the private candlelight dinner on the beach at the resort. I really want it to be the romantic trip she has always wanted. Anyone have any useful tips or experiences to share. I already have plane tickets and I'm looking to spend around 1200 on All inclusive accomodations for 4 nights. |

We renewed our vows in Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo 4 yrs ago....it was wonderful! I found someone online so I'm sure there is someone in Playa that should be able to help you out with finding someone to perform the ceremony for you. My 2 sisters and their husbands went and we all renewed our vows in one big ceremony. Three months later, one of those brother in laws passed away; we were always so glad we were able to spend the time in Mexico together. Some things are just priceless!! Congrats on your anniversary and enjoy your renewal!

Congrats on 12 years! My husband and I are celebrating our 10 year anniversary and will be in Playa November 6-11. We are staying at the Gran Porto Real as well in an Ocean Junior Suite!!
I did a lot of calling around about renewing our vows and I will tell you what...it's VERY expensive!! The hotel charges $350 JUST for an official to perform the ceremony and that is ALL that includes. For $500 you can have a cake & flowers. YIKES. We are going with 6 friends and our 9 year old son so we decided to take a dinner cruise that picks us up from our hotel and takes us to the boat at 4:00 and then we cruise around while the sun sets. Then it docks at a private beach & we have dinner on the beach with a mariachi band playing. While on the boat one of our friends is going to "perform" a blessing of vows for us. So, to us it will be renewing our vows and it will only cost us $200 and that is dinner and a cruise and everything! I hope you enjoy your trip! Larene |
