Going to RPDC in a WEEK! Any suggestions...
Hello to everyone...
I first want to thank all of you for all the helpful information on what resorts to look book at and the wonderful trip reports. My fiance' and I are going to the RPDC on October 5th for our honeymoon, and with the wedding taking up most of our time, I wanted to get some suggestions/reminders of things that we NEED/SHOULD be sure to take with us. We've both been to the Caribbean many times before, never PDC, so we've got the basics (sunscreen, bathing suits, books, digestion medicine), but we want to make sure we're not forgetting anything critical. Also, any "secret" suggestions that you've found helpful during your trips would be nice too! Thanks in advance! |

Check out the new tapas restaurant and the Chef's table restaurant. Have heard nothing about them and am curious to a report. I have a few days or so before we are back for our third visit to the Royal....Have fun.

Congrats! We went to PDC for our honeymoon a few years back and stayed at the Royal Hideaway. This year for our anniversary-we'll be at the Royal PDC-starting from 10/6-10/13. Not quite as romantic as the 1st time around since we're going with 4 other couples! I second the aloe vera-it is invaluable and Actran-just put in a speedy online order for Nux Vomica-I have high hopes for it after hearing from you!

And the NV works! I went to dinner last week at some people's house who had a "wine cellar" and they opened 4 bottles of wine for us It would have been rude not to drink them![]() Felt myself crossing that line (from pleasantly buzzed to drunk enough to be hung over in the morning). Took soem NV and Advil when I got home. Slept great and felt fine in the morning

Actran-so you take it before symptoms even start? Good to know-then maybe I'll avoid feeling bad all together! Any side effects? The Royal PDC looks like a great resort, but I'm afraid we have rather high expectations after staying at RH. We were there when the beach was wide, service was great and no big, noisy conventions! Oh and sorry for hijacking the post GoBlue2007

I just got back from the RPDC. We didn't go to either of the new restaurants. The tapas restaurant looked fine, but we were just never in the mood. I checked out the menu at Chef's Plate many times and was never so intrigued that I wanted to go. It looked good, but having a set menu was a turn off, since there was always something that I didn't want or couldn't eat. We ate at Maria Marie's two times and the first night, NO ONE went to Chef's Plate. The second night, we saw people going to Chef's Plate after they were told that there was a wait to get into Maria Marie's.

) for me to start to feel like my stomache is not enjoying that vast quanitites of alcohol I am pouring into it. But my son takes it after he eats a rich, heavy meal (in addition to when he drinks too much). No side effects if you stick with the rec. amount. That's one of the great things about homeopathics. Have a great time. Let us know how the RPDC compares to RH. I keep hoping the beach will return, but it just seems to get worse and worse (at RH). |
