"Green card" was a figure of speech. Meant the you're-now-married-to-a-mexican-therefore-can-stay-here-no-need-to-work thing.

Mario Lopez... more than a BIT! If you do a photo search of him on Google or Yahoo, you'll see what I mean. As someone mentioned, that's not the best picture of him.

I've just finished watching one of the seasons of Dancing with the Stars that has only just been broadcast here in the UK. Mmmmmmm, now that Maxim bloke that was dancing with Leila Ali was a bit nice when he was doing all his hip-jigglin-latin stuff.

Yeah, these things are very much true and after reading this, I think about a few things my father-in-law does. Never really noticed this one thing , but now that it's in print....
One thing he does is when he talks about how tall my grandson is, he uses his finger, but when he talks about how tall his goat was, he used his hand.
The rest of the stuff is just way of life, alot of things have become sort of funny within family that we joke about it around the dinner table. I personally like the "don't ever, under any circumstances, criticize or belittle a man's mother" Yeah, baby, my boys have my back.

Blame is not part of the Spanish language (or the Mexican nature). They don't break things — things just break, presumably because that's God's will. You don't forget your wallet, it forgets you. It follows that Mexicans are not as free with apologies when something goes wrong or causes inconvenience. This is not lack of concern but an ingrained aversion to assigning fault.
Mexicans also rarely say, "I don't know." Inventing an answer is seen as more polite than leaving you with no answer at all — even if it's a taxi driver with no idea where he is going. Your best clue will be a certain vagueness to the response. If you suspect you're getting a creative answer, ask someone else. Or survey three people and average out their answers if you have to.

OMG that's soo true! I started laughing when I read that..

one example from my ex: I didn't loose your cellphone, it got left behind somehow..

Oh and the made up stories have really gotten my attention... it's amazing how people talk about nothing when a simple I don't know would do fine..

Bloody hell... don't signal "okay" whilst looking at a man girls!
