The Shovel Buddy: The most important friend

We all know it's important to have an updated will, but, how many people have their Shovel Buddy in place?

A Shovel Buddy (hereinafter, SB) is the person who, upon your unexpected demise, will come in save you from post-mortem embarassment by burying the contraband in your possession, e.g. BOBs, porn (commercial as well as homemade), bongs, your stash, clamps, leather products (I think you get the picture). The SB will save you from the grave and spare your family from changing their opinion of you.

So, do you have your SB in place?

My husband is mine...he knows where all my/our contraband is.

Now if we both perish at once...my mommy will be getting a surprise or two when she comes to clean out the house ....but she has a good heart, I'm not worried.

An SB........I've never heard that term, but I have one. We've spoken about it. She knows where to go and what to take If my mother ever got a hold of some of my Mexico pics, not too mention anything else I might have hiding in the nightstand, she would keel over on the spot. I'm the baby of six kids and perfect in her eyes. I would hate to blow that........so to speak

I am my wife's I suppose and she would be mine (not that I have any contraband)...and if we both kick the bucket, who cares what they think!

You may know it but I don't want everyone to see it caught on tape

One of the morning drive time guys I listen to (Preston and Steve on WMMR out of Philly) coined the term, Shovel Buddy. Whenever the topic comes up hilarity ensues

No SB Buddy. But my secretary has been instructed to shred all paperwork that is not work related in my desk at work. Not that I have anything to hide of course.

Tam - that's one of my biggest regrets... before I knew about SBs I shredded a drawer full of journals, floppy disks and calendars. There went a lot of good and fun memories. Now I know better so I have to recreate
