"Spot On", how...

One man can change a language.

I never heard the phrase "spot on" until Gordon Ramsey started using it on "Hell's Kitchen". Perhaps it is a common phrase in the UK, but not on this side of the pond.

I know I've incorporated into my speech. In the last 24 hours I seen or heard it used by someone in Sweden (James), Mexico (Heather) and by our nightly news anchor here in Milwaukee.

It is catching (spot) on!

I've been known to say "crikey" now & again...

I worked at a ski hill for 5 years it is funny how many phrases I picked up from the aussies & the Brits!

I've used spot on..
But I didn't know it was a british thing...

I pick up so much from people that come here..
especially the people from the US.. they have such funny accents.. !

It's one of those phrases that kind of raises the hairs on the back of my neck. I don't use it and I don't like it. Though I do acknowledge that it makes the point it intends to very succinctly.
